does anybody else see more potential from him? i always thought he was a solid player just had a couple of bad coaches and didnt recieve enough minutes. he was amazing in serbia and i believe if he puts in more work, in maybe 2-3 years people wont see him as the BIGGEST bust of all time. Darko’s got great post game, can get above players and dunk, get blocks, and also, like pau gasol, has good passing skills for a big man

ya i saw that video awhile ago, the refs really werent calling a fair game, i think it was greece, and darko just got mad. the thing u got to understand is that most serbians are like that and curse ALOT. also i am sebian and i understood every word perfectly and the subtitles make it look like a big deal when it is not. they twist the words a little bit. like when it says that he wants fuck the refs kid daughter, thats not true, the refs are like 40, he said if the ref has a daughter, ill fuck her too. he never said kid. most serbian talk like this on a regular basis, and the translations arent right.

Darko can be Joel Przebilla with post skills minus the defense. Good guy that was overhyped, but still a good guy.

Personally I think teams were too quick to cast aside Darko. I feel if you are going to take a big man that high in the draft, especially an international one, you need to be prepared to have to wait quite a while for them to develop. It is a huge difference in style of play and the types of bodies you have to face in the NBA. You need to give these guys alot of time to develop. Darko could very well end up as a solid starting center now, which just happens to be exactly what the Pistons are now searching for. IRONY.

There is no denying Darko’s talent level, it’s whether or not he wants to get his head in the game. Darko even said himself right before he starting to break out a lil’ in Minny that he lost passion for the game. The way the Pistons brought him a lil was terrible, how do u use the second pick overall as a victory cigar and since that was his first taste of the NBA he began to feel like thats all he would know is garbage time so he stopped working. If the Pistons would of gave him consistent minutes from day one we could be looking at somebody with a Marc Gasol, or Chris Kamen type impact on a team. But even after all that Darko is still very young, he’s still 7’1 but stronger, he still have nice handle and passing ability for a center, So with that said if a coach can find a way to implement Darko into the game plan properly he still could b a nice player. Think of Darko on a team like the Jazz that requires there bigs to pass. And Darko is easily better then any of the center the Mavericks have on their team. In fact if you look around the league Darko is still better then alot of centers in this league.

He’s only 24, thats like as old as a 2 or 3 year guy, he can still grow.
But he really needs to stop complaining.

he will always be a bust because he was a complete failure in detroit. and because bosh, wade, melo, and kaman were all picked right after him. but yes, he could turn his career around and be a solid player for another 7 years or so.

Kiladephian19134, I thought your overall post was well thought out and I agree with most of what you said.

However, I don’t like the idea of you comparing Milicic with C. Kaman and Marc Gasol. His game has nothing in common with either one. Please get out of that racial stereotyping mode where you only compare white guys with other white players, even when they have nothing in common.
