benshark26ParticipantI just feel like Darren Collison doesn’t get much pub. or hype at all anymore. i’m not saying he’s gonna be a star like some ppl thought when he was a freshman/sophomore, but i feel like he’s just a really solid player and he doesn’t get much love. i understand there are a lot of 1st round pg’s in this draft, but he is a great defender, solid leader, solid distributor, and he’s really been able to improve his shot over the course of his career. other than last year’s final four, he’s been a pretty dependable player in my opinion. just wanted to know what anyone else thinks about him…

TimberTrollParticipantI think he’ll be good as a role player offensively, due to his ability to run the pick n roll, knock down open jumpers, and get others involved. He’s not flashy and creative with the ball though, so I highly doubt he’ll ever be asked to do the majority of creating like a Chris Paul. If he can prove to be a good defensive player against the ridiculous amount of good scoring point guards, then I think he should be a nice player.

jorrye24I like him but I dont think he is strong enough or creative (like they mention above) enough to be a starter. He may carve out a niche as a darrell armstrong type player, and he is a pretty smart player out there. The thing that made everybody stop liking his game was the way Derrick Rose made him look like an ant against a lion in the Final 4 game last year,it was that bad.A few of my friends think he is the best point guard in the nation, but he isnt even close to that in my opinion. I do like him though.

eprizzle14ParticipantI think he’s solid but he’ll never be much of a shooter, personally I like Mills a lot more then Collison but he could be a Speedy Claxton type

michaelds911ParticipantYeah he was really overhyped his freshman and sophomore season, and now its coming out that he can lead his team with him being the unquestioned leader on the squad. The past few years he looked really good because he had nba caliber players around him i.e. Love, Westbrook, Farmar etc. I still do think he will be a good player but not the all-star guy people thought he would be. He reminds me of Aaron Brooks with a lesser jump shot.

joecheck88Participanti think he could be like mario chalmers in the league. he can be a solid backup in the league for years.

benshark26Participantthanks for all the comparisons, they all seem pretty reasonable. this site has darrell armstrong as his comparison too i think. i just think he’s a real disciplined player who has the smarts to play in the league. i can def. see him being a solid backup. but i do agree with u eprizzle that mills has way more potential to do damage. i just feel like he’s been pushed back so much with the influx of decent point guards that he’s kinda the forgotten man out there right now. but thanks for the thoughts

tuck243ParticipantI like Collison, he’s very solid and already has a go to move in a floater. D. Rose made EVERY PG look bad last year, DJ Augustin?…. Sheesh… It was very horrible… I agree with Jorrye24 on that.
But Jorrye24 I can’t think of any PG in College right now that is head over heals better than him. I feel like Ty Lawson and Patty Mills are the same. Johnny Flynn isn’t ready yet. I think AJ Price and Collison might be the two best PGs in college right now….
Any disbelievers?
