What do the Denver Nuggets do next season with regards to signing McGee or not? Personally I think they should re-sign him however they have a lot of money tied up in the forward position and will have to pay Lawson soon if they want to keep him. They have Harrington, Gallo, Chandler, Afflalo all being paid an above average salary and I don’t see how Nuggets can afford/need them all. They also have Brewer and Hamilton (who has shown potential) at the same positions.

To me the odd one out is either Chandler or Gallinari. What do you guys think?

That’s a tough one. In this series Gallo hasn’t been all too impressive. But before he injured his hand earlier this year, some thought he deserved all star consideration.I think they also just gave him a new 4 or 5 year deal. So I think Chandler would be the first to go especially since he’s not even in the rotation now.

mcgee is playing like he’s supposed to play. i am insanely glad george karl picked him up, its like the best thing that happened to mcgee, specially heading into free agency next year. if he knows what is good for him he will stay w/ the nuggs

Denver should resign McGee, and move Chandler. I was thinking maybe a trade centered around Chandler for Tyreke Evans. Evans and Lawson would be able to play together because Lawson ability to play of the ball with other ballhandlers on the court. He’s shown this by playing alone side of Miller and Felton for extended periods of times. Or they could try and use Evans in the James Harden type role.

Another trade option should be for a pf that can score in the post and Let Faried be the energy off the bench. McGee and Faried only score of easy layups, dunks or lobs. Maybe the could steal Millsap or Jefferson which ever one Utah dosent want for any mixture of Denvers bench (Harrington, Brewer, Hamilton,Frenandez, Koufus, Mozgov), a 1st rounder, and Nene’s 13mil trade execption. Or get Scola from Houston for just the Trade exception and maybe a 1st. But they need someone who can get there own down there.

With there talented roster, and Nene huge trade exception Denver should be able to make moves to improve. But first they have to decide wheter to resign McGee( they should) and decide do they keep both Gallinari and Chandler and if not which one. With the right moves this team can be come a good threat in the West in a few years.

Faried is a long-term starter.  I think he can end up a 17-20 ppg scorer.  His only real weakness right now is some post work and defensive positioning.  With his work ethic, those should be smoothed out quickly.  Chandler is the one to go, certainly, but I do hope they can bring back Andre Miller on the cheap.

McGee is still a work in progress but surely Coach Karl would be one of the best guys to help him move forward. Maybe Denver give him quite a lucrative shorter deal to see what happens, this way McGee gets a pay day but Denver don’t have a bit of a knucklehead on a 4 year deal. Maybe something like $15 to $18 million over 2 years with a 3rd year team option.
