I watched this whole game…really enjoyed it. Very close game which surprised me considering Detroit clearly has the better team. Detroit played 4 SF together on the court for the majority of the game which was fun to watch.

    TORONTO notable players

Patrick O’Bryant- he has the size to be a quality nba player but he just isnt polished enough yet. I think he should head for the DLeague.. He had 10pts 10reb but 5 turnovers & 6 fouls…Wasn’t really a big factor in this game

DeRozan- the Raptors better sign a free agent SG because they don’t want DeRozan starting if they hope to make the playoffs. He forced a lot of shots. He stands around too much on offense. He is great on fast breaks. His shot looks bad, his mechanics aren’t good. He had 20 points but also took 20 shots. He can score and is athletic but doesn’t do much else at all.

Douby- Very fast with the ball in his hands. Excellent ball handler. Kind of reminded me a little of Brandon Jennings. Except I don’t see Douby as a starting PG. I think he is certainly an NBA player though. He would be great as a 6th man coming off the bench to provide some instant offense. He was scoring at will this game with outside shooting and penetrating. He finished with 21pts.

    DETROIT notable players

D Washington- He is very athletic. He had a nasty dunk and block in this game. I heard he signed a contract with the Pistons. I don’t see how he is going to help them out at all though. He can get to the rim at will but that is it. Looked to be a ball hog. His jumpshot is prett bad. 13pts 6reb 4-11 shooting

Jerebko- Very physical under the basket which surprised me. Active hands on defense, he caused several pass defelections. On offense he is OK. He will have a hard time scoring on the nba level because his shot release is way to slow. Looks to be an above average athlete and he runs the floor well. I’m not sure this guy is an nba player. 12pts 7reb but 8 fouls. Also shot terrible from the free throw which was a shocker because he has excellent form.

Daye- He looked impressive. Very smart & took quality shots. He is going to make it in the league for the simple fact he is tall & will hit open shots just about everytime. Any team needs a guy that can knock down shots consistently. Shot a high % this game. 19pts 8reb. Needs to gain weight. He has trouble guarding players in the post but he is a descent perimeter defender.

Summer- I can’t even lie he reminded me of LeBron without the ball handling & passing skills haha…seriously. He is a physical specimen. Dominated in the post. He also has improved his shot since his college days. He used to have a somewhat slow release but now he gets his shot off quick. 19pts 6reb. He appears to be a solid bench player at worst in the future for the Pistons. If he improves his IQ, ball handling, & passing he could be special.

i think derozan is better than every shooting guard free agent out there now( except if u onsider A.I a shooting guard )

Derozan dropped 20 and with the 20 shots he took he made nine of them thats very good puls he was 1 for 1 from three and in the first game he played h dropped 10 points on 5 for 8( IMO he is not nearly as raw as people think )

Thanks for the update. I’m curious to see if Douby has improved like you seem to suggest, because he did’nt do anything while in Sacramento.

And who’s watching ufc 100 tonight, it’s gonna be sick.

DeRozan is not better than McCants, Nate Robinson, Iverson, Childress, Marquis Daniels,

DeRozan does nothing but stand around on offense. On defense he is average. He isn’t a much of a rebounder and he is terrible at passing. No way he is better than any free agent SG…r u out of your mind.

Scoring 20pts in summer league while taking 20 shots isn’t that impressive. He will be lucky to average 10pts a game in the NBA I promise u.

Like I said if Toronto wants to make a playoff run they better get a SG.

I’ve never been a Derozan guy, he isnt that impressive to me. He is a good athlete, but he isnt very good at anything else. I dont think he will live up to being the 9th pick. Quincy Douby is pretty expolsive, I saw him play against the Hawks last year and he was a good instant offensive player off the bench that game. He is like Jennings in terms of explosiveness, but he isnt nearly the playmaker he is. He needs to develop better PG skills

    yea but gatorheels
McCants, Nate Robinson, Iverson, Childress, Marquis Daniels
none of these players are a true shooting guard except mccants, and Derozan has a chance to be way better than him

Yeah Douby reminded me of Jennings by the way he handles the ball & his speed

DeRozan has potential no doubt….he just has to learn how move off screens on offense, he has to have a lot more movement on offense. Has to work on his ball handling some and his passing a lot. I don’t think DeRozan will ever be better than McCants. That is true that McCants is the only true SG on that list. However, the Raptors have to get somebody with some experience at the SG spot if they are going to have any kind of a chance in the playoffs IMO.
