he could develop into a Dirk Nowitzki (A bit worse on the perimeter but a bit faster and better in the paint)
    I really like the guy

The guy is way better than Bargnani. He should go second next year if not first, if John Wall performs bad in college. If it was him Davis or Favors. I’d choose him first.

you do realize what highlight tapes are dont you…wayyy better then bariarni?…..highlight tapes show highlights which make players look like all stars..yes he is good but to base a players ability off of just highlights is pretty dumb

u need a whole game to show potenial…matter of fact ill prove the point by showing a highlight tape of a palyer named darko who was killing in the highlight tape

why do u think nooooooooo nba team looks at youtube but instead chooseing to get a full game tape or going to see the player before thinking of drafting them or saying if they have potenial or not…highlight tapes arent a good indication of how good a player is…any recruiter will tell you that…it does indicate how athletic a player is…..some can make big men look like great shooters

IMO Darko could have been really good in the NBA if he wasnt put in a position to fail. and highlights do show potential if i see someone sprint down the court on a fast break and tomahawk it with their left over some1 that can show me how good they might be able to finish because of leaping ability and while on the break u can see how fast they are or their ( u can see all the athletic ability they can hav in that 1 play) IMO

He looks like a big softee that doesnt utilize his size except to shoot over smaller defenders. I personally cant stand big players that sneak out of the paint all of the time. People become enamored by tall players that are somewhat athletic and can shoot. I’m not even as impressed with the footage I’ve seen of him as I was of the footage I saw of Victor Claver. I highly doubt he goes top 5 in such a loaded draft. Too much risk.

josh stop it…you know good and well you cant argue with fans..they watch a youtube clip and think a guy is just great..granted this guy is good but i see the point you are making is you cant base someone games potenial off highlights and i agree..college and pros teams dont base a players potenial on that..every team ive sent of just highlights say….nice but i wanna see a game tape or see this kid in person before i make any commentment

No I wouldnt. Wall, Favors, Monroe, Aminu, Aldrich are all safer bets. Davis, Henson, Warren, Teague, Ebanks also could have terrific seasons next year. Any/all of those players have great upside like DM but with less risk. Josh is right. Darko blew people away with his skillset, size and athleticism but things still havent panned out for him. Same goes for 95% of the other European players that have been drafted by the NBA. Does anyone remember Maciej Lampe? He was a top talent in the draft but his buyout caused him to drop. Where is he now? DM reminds me alot of Lampe.

he plays with the Knicks then he will get all the opportunity he needs and we can truly see if he was a bust

I agree that he still has the potential to be good. I’m not calling him a bust but he was obviously not the 2nd BPA.

he had that same opportunity when he was with the grizz..they started him at first and gave him touches…thing i he didnt do anything with them…i remeber hearing these same things with kwame brown…”well when he goes to the lakers then hes really gonna show”….years later..well when he goes to the grizz he doesnt have to worrry bout kobe”….next… well in det is when he real is gonna shine…lol..come on now darko is what he is..average big man at best that can provide some minutes and fouls……by the way in ny hees still comming off the bench

Highlights make a player as good as you want them to be, but you can still find flaws in highlights, you can see what he can do, and what are his limitations. IF you know how to watch highlights than they can be important, and can tell you how good a player is, if you just watch them for enjoyment, than you get nothing out of them. This guy looks good, but alot of the things he is capalitying on is basic mistakes, and bad defensive players.
