We had a Draft Stock prediction thread a few days ago, where we tried to predict whose draft stock would rise the most due to the Tournament.

Well, I picked Nerlens Noel. I am sticking with that a bit. Kentucky lost without him. They looked lost.

And Smart, Porter, and Shabazz have all lost. No one from the top of the draft is really helping themselves much.

Andre Hollins went for 28. He’s the real deal. I think he can move up the most. He is not a pure point guard but he has lottery talent. White Station HS teammate Joe Jackson had a good game against St. Mary’s and hopefully he can keep it up. I don’t think JJ should come out this year, but if he finishes strong he could have scouts looking at him as a first rounder for next year. He has the game and mentality of a poor man’s Isiah Thomas.

I think Cody Zeller will be helped if the Hoosiers make the Final Four or win the title. He is eligible now to be the top pick if he plays really well. Even if he is only steady he could still be a top 3 pick now. He may have a lower ceiling than some other guys but he has a pretty high floor. At worst he looks like a very solid 3rd big who can score as a legit 7 footer.

Hit the nail on the head with Hollins and Joe Jackson.

if nerlens noel wasn’t hurt… I would have him as the number one pick unless a team like Orlando got it since they have vucevic at center

    Malik,

Could they put Noel and Vucevic together? Let Vucevic score, board, and bang and let Nerlens Noel block shots, play the passing lanes, and throw down alley-oops.

The Magic already have Aflalo and Moe Harkless on the wings. Those two are solid. Orlando does have some bigs, but they still have to take a look at Nerlens Noel.

If the Bobcats get the top pick I think they would look at 4 or 5 different players.

Noel, McLemore, and Cody Zeller look like 3 of those top five guys. Then we will see who else ends up at the top of the draft. Zeller is probably the guy who you won’t get fired for taking at pick number 3.

^ I mean u can but I see noel being than just a Tyson chandler type player meaning hes just more than oops and garbage buckets or getting points in transition

    Malik,

I think Noel would be a better fit on Orlando than Zeller. Ben McLemore would be good but they already have Aflalo. They are ok at the 3 and 4 with Harkless and Tobias Harris so a guy like Shabazz Mohmamed might not be the best fit.

They probably need a point guard more (to replace Jameer Nelson at some point) so they might look at Marcus Smart.

I think their draft board should be Noel, McLemore, and Marcus Smart in some order. Hard to pass up a big, athletic shot blocker and finisher like Nerlens Noel though.

I was telling my wife before the game that Gary Harris is bust-proof when he decides to enter. The man is making me proud!

i don’t understand why so many people still have nerlens noel as a top pick. before he tore his same acl he wasn’t a lock at the first pick and didn’t even prove he can lead his team consistently to a victory. he is the best all around defender in this draft class, but before the injury he couldn’t hit a shot outside of five feet away from the basket. i don’t have any reason to believe that that has changed, and it’s not like he is built like shaq and can just get away from that. on offense he is completely lost and a liability. defensively he is great, but that is half the game. i’m not saying he shouldn’t be a high pick still in this draft, but i ipersonally wouldn’t want to draft him in my top five.

I agree. He’s a really good athlete, but I don’t see the instincts. I even thought his defense was overrated because of his lack of fundamentals and instincts. He goes after everything, breaks defensive continuity, gambles for steals and gives up positioning to go after blocks. With him as the back line defender, how good was Kentucky’s defense?
He has no skill or feel on offense either.

I’m not saying he’s going to be a lottery pick or an all-star in the league, but with his legnth, athleticism, nice stroke, IQ, and hustle there’s no reason he can’t be a very solid NBA player

Jamaal Franklin and Allen Crabbe are leading their teams, and should be on the rise. Mitch McGary won’t enter the draft, but he is playing very well, good strong inside presence.

Arsalan Kazemi should be at least earn a camp invite, possible 2nd round pick. 31 rebounds so far through two games? Plus his solid floor game and heady team defense. He SHOULD be a lock for the 2nd round if GMs know what they’re looking at.
As far as programs getting a stock boost, its Oregon. They are so well coached. Dana Altman is a way better coach than a lot of more highly touted coaches. Aaron Gordon’s been on hand to watch their games. He should be theirs to lose if he has any sense.
