Duke vs Ohio St
That's what I expect duke is playing Kelly on Thomas again, I expect him to drop 25 points and grab 8 boards tonight. Deshaun is really hard to game plan for
OSU wins if Deshaun Thomas goes off. I don't know who is going to guard him, but if it's Kelly then this is a big day for him to show how much he's improved on defense which he says he has in the offseason.
The other great matchup is Quinn Cook and Aaron Craft. Craft was the best defensive PG in the country last season and held many of the best lead guards he faced last year to poor outings. I think Craft locks him down.
All in all it should be a fun game. OSU absolutely whooped Duke's a$$ last season and it wasn't even close. It'll be interesting to see if Duke can return the favor a year later.
Theres always 1 or 2 players that goes off on Duke and get there points, but thats Duke game plan. As long as the other guys dont contribute big for them. Then Mason can offset the production of Thomas.
I LOVE Deshauns game. The guy might just be the best ALL AROUND scorer in the country. Has some of the best hands in the country & that translates to above average rebounding from him.
Is it just me or does this guys game scream 6th man candidate in the NBA?
what Dantoni ran in Phoenix and New York.
Imagine Thomas playing the 4 for Duke instead of Kelly. I know K recruited Thomas, but didnt put the full court press for him since Kelly was already committed, when Thomas was a junior in high school. Duke ended up with Josh Hairston at the 4 instead. Lol
Thomas doing WORK!
Ohio St's defense has kept Duke on neutral. What was it, 0 field goals in 10+minutes up to that tip-in?
With Aaron Craft out for probably the remainder of the half, this is Duke's chance to make a quick run.
6th man on the year candidate.
OSUs defense is RELENTLESS
Crafts on ball defense should be considered a SUPER POWER.....RIDICULOUS
Duke is the #2 rank team in the country, beat 3 top 5 teams in 1 month, and have 3 seniors in the starting lineup, Duke is not flying under the radar. But this team will only go as far as Quin Cook takes them.
Mason's jump shot is non existent right now, and half court offense is still mechanical at times and could continue to improve once he gets into the NBA. I would like to see him make quicker post moves once he gets the ball.
His FT shooting has improved from around 50% ave his first 3 seasons, to around 80% the start of this season. That's crazy, but shows he is still developing.
What does everyone think of Rasheed Sulaimon as an NBA prospect? He is only around 6'4 in Shoes, but has great lateral quickness on defense and is a good ball handler and shooter. I like him as a pro player because he seems like the perfect kind of combo guard, he doesn't need the ball in his hands all the time to be effective, but at the same time he is capable of breaking down a defense and getting to the rim and can even run an offense for short periods of time.
The reports are that he plans on staying in school for at least 3 seasons and earning his degree, but obviously things can change. How do y'all think he projects to the league?
I dunno man, I still read this forum a decent amount, I just hadn't gotten around to posting in a while. I also tend to post a lot more in the summer because I'm bored, but now that I'm back at school I've got a lot of other things occupying my time. But while I may not be the regular that I once was, I'm still here, a watchful protector, ready to defend Duke's honor and sing the praises of the G.O.A.T. Darko Milicic

ACC/Big Ten Challenge
another early season game against a top 5 opponent for Duke.
Ohio St beat Duke last season with Sully, but Mason pretty much held his own against him. But the matchup that dominated Duke was at the 4. Deshaun Thomas killed Ryan Kelly last season. Im worried about that mismatch again this season.
The matchup Im looking to see how Cook matches up with Craft. Going to be interesting....
