Yesterday against Celtics Bledsoe had 23pts 7rebs and 10 asts. Tonight against Wizards he has 17pts and 8 asts with 3 mins left in the 3rd qtr. Clippers desperately need CP3 but Bledsoe is doing his best CP3 impression and that pay day is getting larger by the game.
Side note: Deandre Jordan has 19 rebs through 3 quarters.
Blake and CP3 sitting out tonight with injury.
CP3 seems to be always out due to injuries.
Everyone thinks Bledsoe is an RFA this off season because of all the trade talk but he isn't. He is still under contract with the Clippers. He will be an RFA in the summer of 2014. I know you didn't say his payday would be this summer but it seems that is what you are insinuating..I am pretty much basing this off of the multiple posts on this site which claim he will be an RFA in 2013 and have been incorrect.
It's great that he's playing well and all, but they lost both of those games to teams they should have beaten.
The Wizards also won the game. The Clippers are 2-6 since 1/21. They have however played all but two of those games on the road and one of the home games was against OKC. I don't know how much of this record is them being without CP3 compared to them just coming back down to Earth as a team. We will find out in a few days when Chris and Blake are back.
@Sewok, I 'know he's not a RFA for another year but he can be extended this summer I believe, so a sign and trade could be at hand, correct me if I'm wrong on that because I'm not 100%. Things are starting to level out with the LA teams and I hate it but it was inevitable.
You are correct he will be eligible for an extension this summer and it would make sense if he was traded that team would want to extend him. I didn't mean to call you out specifically but I have seem multiple posts with incorrect info and just wanted to straighten out the confusion. If he is traded to Boston it would be interesting to see what they would do with Rondo already having a very team friendly contract. I don't see anyway those two guards could play together effectively without being able to consistently hit a jump shot.
It will be interesting to see what happens....I think his most likely destination is in Dallas. They need a PG and he would fit pretty well with the hot shooting of OJ Mayo at SG. I just don't think that deal will happen until the offseason....obviously it all depends on CP3 resigning in LA as well.
i agree that bledsoe has been stuffing the stat sheet, but when i watch clippers game, i honestly dont see their offense being anywhere as structured as it should be. that explains why they havent been winning nearly as much or being as dominant. dont get me wrong, i think Eric has been playing very well and his stats says so, but its all the intangibles that paul brings to the team that Bledsoe is very far from. leadership, directing where people go, making sure everybody gets a touch, controlling the tempo, e
Bledsoe has gotten alot better from his rookie year, but he still cant run an offense or control the tempo of a game yet. He still plays a little out of control a bit, but he could start for some teams in this league no question.
He's an awesome at pressuring the ball... I watched him harass the piss out of Rubio a couple weeks back at the Target Ctr. It was enough to make me think at the time that Rubio should be shut down until he knee was further along in rehab.
TBH bledsoe play's a lot like John Wall.
Not really, besides them being to insanely fast and quick guards, I dont see much resemblance in their game.
Bledsoe is quicker than Wall in the half court and has no problem getting to the rim in half court, plus Bledsoe's handle is better than Wall's, and so is his jumper.
I still at times see Wall have trouble getting to the rim in the half court setting.
Wall is all the way to the basket or nothing, Bledsoe can stop and pop if a player goes go under the screen on him and he can hit the 3 every now and then.
And we don't even have to talk about defense, Bledsoe is a much better defender than Wall.
So you are saying you would rather have Bledsoe over John Wall? I know Bledsoe is a better defender and better shooter but that is where it stops. Wall has been out of basketball shape to start his season and has still been outplaying Bledsoe. Wall is much more of a natural PG in my opinion. He was 4th in the league in total assists last year despite playing with sub par talent. Bledsoe has much less responsibility to deal with playing with guys like CP3 and Crawford on his team. This is Bledsoe's first year being an impact player while Wall has done so since his rookie year. I think with Wall being hurt and on a crappy team a long with Bledsoe being on a contender and breaking out along with the trade talks has inflated his value. I think Wall could be one of the more underrated PGs in the league at this point.
I did not watch the game tonight but Wall had 13 pts 8 assists and 2 TO's shooting only 6-18 fgs. Bledsoe had 17 pts 9 assists 4 TOs and shot 7-14. Bledsoe was -9 while Wall was +9 and the Wizards won. Wall will start getting back in rhythm and won't shoot 33% in too many games. Bledsoe has certainly closed the perceived gap between the two players but If I am starting a team and I can choose one of them to be my starting PG there is no doubt I choose Wall. Wall (as well as Bledsoe) is still young and the same age (22) as rookie standout Damian Lillard.
I wouldn't say Bledsoe has a better jump, I'm not a fan of either of theirs, but on long 2's (16 - 23 feet) Wall is shooting 36% this year while taking 4.3 a game from there. Bledsoe is only making 26% of his shots from that range while taking 1.9 a game.
Bledsoe does have a much better 3 point % but he only takes one a game from there. This is mostly because Bledsoe barely gets any elevation on shot so can only get it off if he's outside of the line and doesn't have a defender too close.
Would perfer to pass. I think think the opposite for Bledsoe. Wall is and will be a better PG than Bledsoe. I was at the C's clips and Bledsoe was balling, but he is a scorer. Comes more natural to him.
I never said I would prefer Bledsoe over Wall, I just explained why I feel they dont play the same.
Wall is the better of the 2, of course, I never once said Bledsoe was better.
For instance, Lebron James is a better passer, defender, more athletic, quicker, faster than MJ, but it doesn't mean he's better......I just feel Bledsoe can do a little more than Wall, but he's just not consistent yet.
You threw me off when every thing you talked about was how Bledsoe was better at it then Wall. Shooting, Getting to the Rim... and don't get you started on Defense....you didn't come out and say Bledsoe was better than Wall but I didn't think you had to...it seemed clear to me that is what your argument was getting at.....my mistake.
1) Darren Collison put up Chris Paul numbers in New Orleans, but the big difference was that the wins didn't come with Collison's numbers. During this stretch without Paul, the Clippers have lost 6 of 8.
2) Bledsoe has also thrown in his share of 5-16, 3-14, and 4-14s during this stretch as well.
