As we have seen lately, Turner is struggling in the NBA… Here is my queston to you:

Turner’s best position is:

A. PG

B. SG

C. SF

SG but he isn’t one of those players who is limited to one position.

His natural/best position is at SG, but he would make an absolute perfect PG for Phil Jackson’s system or triangle offense. I think Iguadala has to be moved in order for Turner to really thrive.

It remains to be seen if these two can effectively play together but we might not get a chance to know.  I love me some Jodie Meeks but if I was Doug Collins I would of been starting ET all year at the 2 and bringing Jodie in off the bench and play him closer to 19-21 minutes a game instead of 27, and be giving Evan at least 30 mins a game. 

I still wanna see Iggy dealt for a Center thou.  Big Spence can get his 15-20 mins a game off the bench if he signs for cheap.

I think he needs to play with the ball in his hands much like Tyreke Evans. His biggest asset is either creating for himself or others. He can’t play wing because of his inability to run off screens and make shots. IMO he’s the kind of guy that needs to be ball dominant on offense the point guard so to speak, but guard 2’s on defense. You need a point guard who can play off ball with Evan Turner. I actually think Jrue Holiday is a good complement because he can play off ball. The question is if the 76ers are willing to let him be ball dominant. If not you are not maximizing his ability.

 You bring up a great point about him needing the ball.  At this point in career, he really does need it in his hands to be successful cuz his mid-range isn’t fully developed.  I fully expect him to come into next season with a much improved shot.  Confidence is also a big issue.  Collins tried running him off of screens earlier in the year and it was just clank after clank with a brick in between.  

One of the things that Turner has showed this year that I didn’t know he had was the ability to post up smaller defenders.  He has a nice array of moves.

I think Evan Turner could do a Michael Redd and add a dangerous 3 point shot.  Also Philly is not the best team for Turner and he may get moved.  Wesley Johnson and Turner should trade locations.

How the hell would it help the Sixers if him and Wes changed places?  Maybe if you said him and D-Cuz or Favors or Monroe but Wes?

 ^ three point shooting, he could play the 2 along Iguodala and move Meeks to the bench strenghting the bench. Plus Johnson compliments Iguodala cas he doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be good and can knock down the three.

I’m not saying I agree with a trade like this, but that’s why they’d do it if they did.

Turner was given plenty of minutes early on in the season after a hugely disappointing summer league and preseason.  The result was a horrible start to the regular season for the Sixers as a whole.  Its not untill the Sixers cut back his minutes did they begin to go on a tear.  Meeks is in the starting lineup because he compliments that unit better then Turner does.  Meeks provides the defense and 3 point shooting the Sixers need in the starting lineup.

His game reminds me of a Scottie Pippen-Penny Hardaway hybrid. Great ball-handling and distributing with a good mid-range game and ability to finish at the rim. Outside of 18-feet, its no good, but he has shown a knack for knocking down big shots when they count. Neither Penny or Scottie were very good 3-pt shooters, but they could make big shots when they counted…plus, Scottie was not too solid his rookie year, either, and his shooting was terrible. If it weren’t for Jordan pushing and punishing him for a few years, he may have never turned into the palyer he was. I think all the criticism is ridiculous at this stage. Its his rookie year! Yeah, some other rookies are having bigger impacts at this point, but as far as who will have a better career, its way too early to count Evan out.

I do agree that Wes is better suited to the Sixers and Turner is much better suited to the Wolves…both squads would be wise to take a look at a swap…

He will not be as effective as he was in college creating or taking guys off the dribble. He is a back up PG or a SG, but still does not shoot it well.

Even though he is not a deadly shooter, he could start at the 2 with a shooting point guard ala aaron brooks or mo williams. He just needs to be around shooters to thrive, holiday can stroke but iggy isnt a good shooter which makes it hard for him to really be productive there. I see him being traded this summer and them we will see how his career pans out. Some players just do not fit certain systems……….
