chris_wuzhereParticipantWho’s at the top of your FA wish list for your team? How would you overpay to get them? Who do you think will be the most overpaid FA this summer?
For the Pelicans: nobody ranks higher than Pekovic. His bruising style would compliment Unibrow’s finesse game perfectly. Throw in a competent PG and some 3 and D guys and we can make the playoffs. I’ve seen Pek valued at 10-12 mil so I wouldn’t mind a contract starting at 13-14 mil. Considering that he’s 27 and entering his prime I think he’s got great value. Second goes to Iggy bc of his versatility on offense and defense. He’d be a good leader and we need defense desperately.
As far as overpaid guys go I can see Mayo and JR Smith chasing the dollar and going for 8-9 mil per year when they’re really 5-6 mil guys. Also wouldnt want them on a long term deal but I’m sure they’ll get those offers too.

tyhchsParticipanthmm I will give a go at this for OKC,
Amnesty Perkins get Pekovic, he can score in the freaking post, promise possiblity of winning a championship might even take a little less, maybe can play D, however who really knows, haven’t really seen him
Anyways JUST GET A FREAKING POST PLAYER WHO CAN SCORE DOWNLOW AND DEFEND AND WE WILL BE HAPPY IN OKC

chris_wuzhereParticipantPekovic is more of a pick n roll guy than a post up guy. OKC could really use a guy like Al Jefferson. He’s horrible on D but great on the boards and has good foot work and post moves. He can also shoot the 15 footer.

GREENE1148ParticipantEven if OKC were to amnesty perkins, they are still over the soft cap, therefore can only sign players to a non taxpayers Mid Level Exception of up to 4 years at $5 million per year…
Neither Pekovic or Jefferson are going to take money like that…

SubZeroParticipantI wouldn’t mind signing Al Jefferson or Nikola Pekovic, or even Tiago Splitter for cheaper

SubZeroParticipant*Only if we don’t get a post player like Alex Len in the draft. If we draft someone like Len, Zeller, or Olynyk, than signing a C wouldn’t be a need.
Besides a low post scorer, I would like to see us sign a backup for Durant. Someone like Earl Clark or Matt Barnes

thunderjerkParticipantI want to see Tony Allen and Carl Landry in Jazz jerseys next season. Make it happen, Dennis. Wouldn’t mind Teague or Iggy either.

r377ParticipantIggy is getting on a bit and prob wouldn’t sign anyway with the Pistons. I wouldn’t mind seeing us make a run at Corey Brewer if we cannot get Porter in the draft.
Knight, Burke or Oladipo, Brewer, Monroe, Drummond as the lineup. We will still be well under the salary cap for the 14-15 season, enabling us to sign another FA

bigheavyParticipantI would love for the Bulls to bring in a guy like Gerald Henderson and maybe Josh McRoberts. I know they’re not big names but they are solid players. Also, I wouldn’t mind moving Taj and for a guy like Carl Landry or David West who are more consistent players. Taj be killin us sometimes.
As for overpaid I think somebody is going to throw big money at Nate Robinson and O.J. Mayo will definitely cash in.

Forte IVParticipantThere’s a rumor floating around that the Clippers will be hard-core targeting O.J. Mayo this offseason. He’s my favorite player and I would love to have him, but we really need to focus on backup bigs first. I don’t know if we can do this since Mayo was only on Mavs for one year, but maybe a sign-and-trade of Bledsoe for Mayo to perhaps give him more money that he would want.

GREENE1148ParticipantOnly flexibility OKC has is to sign players to the MLE…
My ideal guy would be Kyle Korver, an insane 3 point shooter, that will punish defenses when they cheat off, and clog the lane with Durant/Westbrook/Jackson attacking the rim.
I also think Pekovic will end up in Portland on around $13m per season, they have explicitly stated that they want a more defensive minded center… they have that money to spend, and it would continue the history of them outbidding each others RFA… (Batum), If Minnesota were to match that kind of contract, they would be pushed into the tax next year,

CynthiaParticipantMy Thunder Offseason Wish List:
1. Pray to the Gods Westbrook is back ASAP.
• Thunder have showed a lot of glaring flaws from coach to players since Westbrook has been out. It’s actually kind of scary.2. Let Fisher walk.
• For good this time, please.3. Amnesty Perkins. While most Thunder fans who don’t know any better think we can just amnesty Perk and go out and get Howard, Jefferson, Gortat, or Pekovic, I on the other hand realize that’s not going to happen. So here’s a list of free agent Centers that are not only better than Perk but they would most likely be willing to sign for the MLE or less!
• Zaza Pachulia – Similar game to Perk, except he can make 1-foot shots unlike Perk.
• Andray Blatche – A bit of a wild card but I think he could fit into the system well, he can actually score and his defense isn’t too shabby either. For some reason I can see Blatche & Ibaka working well together, similar bodies and talent except one’s a bit more offensive and one’s a bit more defensive.
• Josh McRoberts – I like this one, he can score around the rim and occasionally from 3. He’s still relatively young & athletic and I think he fits the Thunder mold.
• Chris Kaman – Savvy vet that can do a little bit of everything.
• Samuel Dalembert – He’s been in bad depth situations the last couple years and people have sort of forgotten about him, but he’s still an upgrade over Perk and if put back into a starting role I think he can still manage nightly double-double’s or close.
• Jermaine O’Neal – See Dalembert.
• Tiago Splitter – As much as Splitter has improved he may want more than the MLE, but if he can be snagged at MLE I think he would fit really well.4. Let K-Mart walk.
• Love K-Mart but that’s 12 million that can be more wisely spent.
• It’s time to groom Jeremy Lamb to be the new 6th man.5. Resign Ronnie Brewer and actually give him a spot in the rotation.
• The guy is a steal for only a 1 million/year contract.6. Fire Scott Brooks, sign just about any of the free agent coaches:
• Phil Jackson – Just a dream world I’m living in here!
• Jerry Sloan – He’s back and ready to coach, I think it’s a good fit.
• Nate McMillan – He’s looking for a new home, well Nate do you like Tornadoes?
• Stan Van Gundy – I know a lot of people hate Stan, but I’ve always really liked him, I’m not sure he’s the ideal fit for OKC but I feel he’s an upgrade over Brooks.7. Let Perry Jones play more.
• I don’t think he’s as ready to step up as Jeremy Lamb is, but we barely used him at all, he has a lot of potential so give him a chance to reach it.8. The Lottery Pick.
• Don’t waste it on a reach for a Center, better Centers can be found via free agency, see #3.
• This isn’t the best draft ever, so get the best player available or ship the pick for a decent role-player.0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/15/2013 - 5:20am #774626
