Is Gerald Henderson worthy of a top 10 pick?
At this point no one can answer this safely, as with any pick who is being drafted on potential.
He's plusses:
-he shown drastic improvement (still needs much more though)
-jumper has improved ten fold
-pedigree
-I believe he has atleast a little drive in him
-effortless leaper
-solid defender
The reason why I said he`s a late first round pick because he has all the tools to become a defensive stopper in the NBA and that`s about it. If I`m a GM, I`m drafting based on skill and potential. Gerald Henderson has neither I`m sorry. If my team is on the boeard and my team is lacking a shooting guard, I`m drafting based on skill and potential so it would either be take Harden and if he`s not available , take Derozen and if he`s not available, take Chase Budinger and if Chase Budinger`s not available, I`d take Jeff Teague and turn him into a shooting guard. If none of these guys are available, then I would take a gamble on Gerald or trade him for a future first round pick or a veteran. But hey, maybe this is just how I feel.
late lotto to mid first round,he's not worthy of a top 10 pick,he just doesn't have that kind of an upside
Draft is to deep on the perimeter for him to be a top ten but late lotta should be legit. I see a lil bit of JRICH and Raja Bell in him and that is not a bad player to have on your team
if this guy continue to work hard he can be an all-star one day...he is worth a lotto pick...has a good mid-range game and is very athletic so that he should become a solid defender an can finish in the paint...he has the tools to be special but i also like terrence williams as a sleeper who can be picked later then players that they are better then
he's a pure shooting guard because his lack of size. harden is 6'5'' henderson is 6'4'' ben gordan is 6'3''. when do you draw the line of too small being too small at the shooting guard spot. i think harden is the least athletic out of all of those players and i dont see him being a great shooting guard. henderson is prolly the longest and best defender out of all those players. im not overly impressed with any of the wing players in this years crop. i see know superstars but i think henderson will be the best player out it. harden is prolly more polished offensively at this point
Why would that make sense? Ellington is a shooter who benefited from a great pg & post attack (open look after open look). Gerald had to get his, his team lacked both of those. Henderson's upside is undeniable and is what he is (shooter). So depending on what your team needs, Henderson is prolly the better pick.
Goodlife, good sh*t no insults lol. The NBA is a "make or miss league" (JVG). I think that Ellington shooting will be a valuable asset, he seems to be a better passer than Henderson and he is an underrated defender. Henderson's upside is due to his athleticism, but we all know how many players has carried that label. I just dont think Henderson will be able to get that mid range jumper off as effectively in the NBA, the players are more intelligent in the NBA and they will force Henderson to shoot from distance and play off his left hand... Shooter always have more value in the NBA....
henderson problem seems to be height..if hes 6'5 -6'7 then hes a legit top 10..but with him being 6'4 ( im hearing hes closer to 6'3) theres doubt in alot of peoples mind( me included) and the fact his range is limited
I'm a Duke fan, so I watched his game all year, and honestly I'd have a hard time picking him at all. I just know how GM's are. He did show improvement, but not like what I've had liked to see. I don't think he even realizes he has a left hand. I do see so much upside, for the same reasons I get frustrated, I also see how he's so hard to stop and doesn't have any moves, ball handling, and BBALL IQ. Yet he is effective, he's intriguing none the less.

Is he a top 10 pick? i like him but i think hes at least gonna be mid-first rounder. possibly late lotto, say 13 or 14.
