IndianaBasketballParticipantAccording to reports, Grant Hill will announce his retirement tomorrow.
Here’s an old video for all of you youngens that have no clue how good he was before his ankle injuries (you might want to mute the music though).

IndianaBasketballParticipantHe had a great career. People forget, but at one point… He was supposed to be the next Jordan. He was an amazing all-around player playing point forward and a walking triple double. Though the ankle injuries took away his ability to be a superstar, you have to respect how he bounced back and was still a very good role player.

Cavaliers420ParticipantGreat player, great career. His runs with Duke will always be remembered.

I May Be WrongParticipantWait…. Did you see this on Twitter IB? Because, there is a fake "Marc Stein" account and he claimed that he is retiring. John Hollinger retweeted him but then a fan told him that account is fake and John Hollinger said "my bad, never thought I’d fall for it"…. This fake Marc Stein account also said Pau Gasol was traded to the heat for Bosh (but you know that isn’t true)

220ParticipantI was just about to say the same thing. I just heard David Aldridge taking about the teams he was considering joining and he didn’t even mention retirement as a thought.

mlevensoParticipantGrant played at a high level over the last few years and definitely will play at least another year. He will be choosing between the Heat, Thunder, and the Lakers. Nash will try to reel him into LA, and the open back up SF slot on the Thunder could bring him there. His defense, mid-range game, and IQ, will land him on a contender. I hope he gets a ring.

mlevensoParticipantI know this will not happen…. but what are thoughts on: Dwight for Harden/Ibaka?

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIf only injuries didn’t destroy T-Mac and Hill. They were supposed to be the next Pippen-Jordan.

Cavaliers420ParticipantSomeone on twitter put that a fake account actually put that and Grant isn’t going to retire. Not sure which is true though.

r377ParticipantReport:
Grant Hill said at Team USA practice on Tuesday that he is not retiring from the NBA.
This is not really news, as it became pretty clear he was coming back after the treatment he received on his knee this summer. He also mentioned one team – the Lakers, after an earlier report suggested he was also looking at the Heat and Thunder. If we had to guess, he’ll be teammates with Steve Nash again next season.0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/10/2012 - 6:37pm #694409

BlueLacesParticipant@mlevenso
So in a Grant Hill thread, you decide to put up a bogus Dwight Howard trade? SMH.

Fear the BeardParticipantDavid Aldridge just reported that Hill would consider retire IF he cannot land a spot on a contender. Lakers seem to be his first preference to join his mate Steve Nash, but he would also consider Thunder or Miami. I would love to see him get a ring; he deserves it with the horrible run of injuries he’s endured. Here’s the link:

geothermalParticipantPippen + Jordan + Injuries = T.Mac and Hill, arghhhh,
i want to see the T.mac and Hill without injuries,

juslistinParticipantThe guy had all the potential in the world to be the next great thing, he could of been the next Scottie Pippen in IMO, but his career still turned out well after all the injuries, best of wishes to him

IndianaBasketballParticipantSo based on this thread, he’ll only retire IF he can’t get on with the Lakers or another contender?
I hope this is true… Because I still think he has something left to offer a team.

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantits always a shame when a player such as Hill was derailed by injuries, he could have been something else without them. im happy despite that hes been able to come back and contribute with good defense and great character. would love if the lakers could pick him up, he would definitely be a great body off the bench for an otherwise weak bench.
