Did the Nets find a D-League guy that can come in and take over.. I think so, Gerald Green had 26 of the bench including the sickest windmill Alley oop you will see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt1kbkOARpQ&feature=related

I know he not gonna have a huge impact but it’s nice to see this kid who struggled so much in the pros and should’ve just gone to Oklahoma State finally come alive a little hopefully he can continue it and he’s only 26!!!!! seems like he’s been around forever.

Even the Rockets bench went a bit crazy on that one.

Too bad he made the game LOSING basket for the Nets. He tipped the ball into his own basket with 50 seconds left and gave houston the 1 pt lead. The rest of Houston’s points were on intentional fouls from the line.

I don’t think a game losing basket has ever happened before.

Leave it to Gerald Green to make the game losing basket.

LMAO at the Houston bench… They were shocked…

That was Gerald Green’s statement: “Hey sign me up for the rest of the season!” LOL

    OldSkool,

It’s especially crazy that it’s on his SHOOTING hand.

If he keeps his head on straight, I think he can be the 8-12 ppg player he was when he was in the NBA a few years ago.  He has the talent to stick in the leauge, I just don’t think he’s a guy who’s going to make any All-Star teams.

Green is not just an athlete. He was actually one of the better shooters coming out of High School as well. Most high schoolers who leaped to the NBA were tall and athletic, but J.R Smith, Gerald Green, and Martell Webster were known to have jumpshots as well. Great pick up for the nets.

He said the reason he dunks so much is because when he was younger, that finger made it hard to shoot layups some just dunked all the time..

Not a direct quote but it’s something like that.
