Monroe is a very good player with a chance of becoming a star. Pistons might be another high lottery pick ( and a good free agent) away from being a perennial playoff team in the east.
Pistons don't need another high lottery pick to be a perennial playoff team, they need better role players and for their young core to mature. Knight, Monroe and Drummond is easily a good enough core to make playoffs consistently if they all reach their potential.
Obviously I won't address this nonsense about Monroe being the best player in the NBA.
