R-Dot-13ParticipantIm cheering for the Thunder this game, but I do like the Grizzlies too, does anyone else like Vasquez at the point for the Grizzlies?
He’s a great ball handler, great passer, and has awesome size for his position, does anyone see him as an eventual starter in Memphis?

RUDEBOY_Participanthe’s capable of being a starter in a few years..but he sometimes makes alot of mistakes which leads to turnovers, plus he’s not a consistent shooter…

cward23ParticipantHe’s also just a Rookie. I think he will eventually be a starter for another team. I forgot he was actually in the NBA(i don’t watch the Grizz much)

sheltwon3ParticipantVasquez may not be starter material but he is solid and was a great pick up for the Grizz. They may have screwed up drafting Thabeet but they turned him and another draft mistake into Shane Battier who has helped them win big in the playoffs already. I believe when Gay gets back they will be the second best team in the West.
Hopefully Xavier Henry grows up and give them something in the future. They have their starting line up pretty much on lock and have a nice group with Sam Young, Vasquez, Arthur,Henry(taking Mayo’s place), whoever they pick up in the draft plus whoever they get in a trade of Mayo. They may also be able to keep Battier but it may be hard because they will be low on funds after resigning Gasol.
I appears that need a bk up Center and I am sure some vet can join up for cheap.

ghrghrParticipantGreivis is a great guy to have on offense. He can handle the ball and shoots well enough that the defense can’t leave him wide open. His problem is on defense, he is just too slow to be able to guard PGs. Against San Antonio the other players had to help him every time Parker tried to get past him(not that many players can stay in front of Parker).
I loved his play in college, he is a true point guard, sees the court well and will pass first.

iminipandaParticipantHe has really proven himself in the last series. Before I wasn’t to high on him but he seems to have a nice feel for the game. Mistake are an issue but thats common for young point guards. I expect a lot of growth for him in the next few years.

JNixonParticipantHe’s a perfect backup, I think he’ll develop into a good backup PG. Here’s why:
He has the size to play on or off the ball, he’s unselfish, he can create offense, and he’s probably a little too erratic with his decision making and shooting to be a starter. He’s someone you bring off the bench to be a change of pace. He’s got the physical tools, style of play and skill set that PERFECTLY changes the pace of the Grizzlies PG position. Vazquez’s game compliments Conley Jr.’s game beautifully.
