    Who doesn’t take this deal

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=a7k7hbb

Grizz get Dudly, Udrich, celtics 2013 1st

    Bucks get Gay, Lee, Telfair

    Suns get Ellis

    Celtics get Udoh

The grizz save money, replace gay with dudly, add guard depth and get a 1st

Bucks remake their team with Jennings, Lee, Gay, starting on the periemter for them.

Suns get a dynamic scorer who fits well with Dragic. Dragic has size to guard sgs

    Celtics get athletic big guy

i see the logic, but I just don’t get what the Grizz are trying to do, if they are indeed trying to chase midlevel guys like Dudley & Redick. they’re a pretty good team right now- and yes, making a move makes sense, but why to make the team worse? in my eyes, they lose this deal massively, and become a 7th/8th seed rather than a 3rd/4th. If they’re really intent on making a deal, why not gamble on getting players in, rather than dealing their stars?

The Suns might have to give a 1st to the Grizzlies or something like that, but overall this is a real solid trade for all teams involved.

I think in the Grizzlies mind they can still contend without Gay. They took OKC to 7 games 2 years ago without Rudy Gay and a healthy Z Bo and Marc Gasol. Their SF play was bad that playoffs though. Dudley would be an upgrade over whoever played the 3 for them in that playoffs. He provides tough D and a great shooter. That is something the Grizz need. It is a step back for Memphis I think but it’s an awesome move if they are indeed intent on moving Gay because of salary reasons.

As for the trade the Celtics give up too much for a reserve big man.

It doesn’t make sense to me from a Phoenix standpoint either. It makes them more exciting but probably not much better and they add his contract to a rebuilding team.

Joe as a celtics fan I look at Lee and a 1st for Udoh as a solid trade. He is still only 25 has great mobility, is a shot blocker and gives the Cs the length they desperately need.

For the Suns Ellis’s contract will be up in 2 seasons, this is the same as Gortat. For a rebuilding team they are in a weird place because there best players are Gortat, Dragic, and Scola none are really young and have a ton of upside. Adding Ellis would change the dynamic or this team.
