Harrison Barnes the new Jordan??
Watch him play before you compare him to Jordan. Before you compare him to anyone..just watch him play.
He isn't even close to the athlete Jordon was. Isn't the same scorer, passer, defender, rebounder, shooter, ANYTHING.
Barnes is a great player with a well-balanced game. He's like a better shooting Jeff Green.
Kobe and Wade not better passer and rebouding that Jordan, they compare to Jordan
Harrison Very Very bigger potential
Espn compare Barnes to Kobe and MJ
Kill yourself.
Harrison Barnes and Michael Jordan doesnt even have similar game. Barnes 18 years old is already 6'8 215lbs, I can see him maxing out to 6'9 225lbs, Tracy McGrady is probably the better comparison for Barnes, instead of the ridiculous Jordan comparison.
there names shouldn't even be in the same conversation. don't get me wrong he's really good and his game is off the charts but come on, MJ23, thats VERY disrespectful
Harrison Barnes = Antawn Jamison
I compare Harrison Barnes to a lesser Lebron James. Harrison does every aspect of the game great like Lebron but he lacks a killer instinct. Obviously he doesn't drive as good as Lebron, but I feel like there games are very similar.
i tu eres un hijodeputa:)
Its impossible to pick the next Jordan, because there was nothing obviously amazing about Jordan from the start. He was drafted 3rd overall, he was cut from his varsity team. Nobody predicted he would be this good, because the difference was in his mind. Every few years a player is going to come along who seems to have the skills and athleticism to Be Like Mike, but you don't really get a feel for their mindset and their drive until they make the NBA; its easy to work hard to get drafted and get money, its a bit more difficult to do it to stand out and build a legacy.
For the record, having read Barnes' SLAM diarist entries I don't think he will have a HoF career, let alone be the next Jordan. Any taller than 6-8/9 and he'll struggle to let those guard skills carry over.
Don't sleep on Barnes. He's no Michael Jordan, but I think he's going to be as close to Kobe Bryant as there is coming up.
Barnes is outstanding at every aspect of the game, with very good athleticism and physical ability. And trust me, I'm not just saying this. I don't like to give high praise or superstar comparisons to just anybody. You don't want Barnes play if you don't think he lacks a killer instinct. He has some dog in him, and he has game-long stretches where he takes over the game. Call me crazy, but Barnes has the ability to be an elite level college player next year, and NBA player in the future.
He's clearly a big fan of Kobe's game -- you can see him trying to copy many of his moves.
Obviously he has awesome potential - but any young kid with a 6-8 frame and ability to get his shot off the dribble does. Whether he has the kind of intangibles that drove Jordan to become the greatest ever of course remains to be seen. He seems intelligent, certainly, and will surely work to improve his weaknesses. I was very impressed after the All-Star games.
Wow, this guy is close to my record for most thumbs down for a post....
But if he is as close to Kobe as we've seen in awhile I'm happy, because the Raptors are gonna have a good shot at him when they win 20 games next season.
I think Perry Jones will be a superstar as well.
MJ built his game during his career, he was incredibly talented but he got something else, work ethic and winner spirit. MJ was not only hyper gifted with talent, he had the mind to become the best of all time. This is the kind of thing that we can't judge before we see it. Look at Kobe Bryant, now and only now comes the question of where exactly to put the guy among the best players, for instance, is he better than Magic? The answer will come in few years and if he can get 7 rings some people may put it in front of MJ because of that.
Time gives answers, Harrison is damn talented but does he has the mind and the professionalism to become one of the best? Time will answer.
Michael Jordan:
32,292 points
30.1 ppg

10-time first-team All-NBA
9-time first-team All-Defense
6--time NBA champion
NCAA champion
2-time Olympic gold medalist
2-time NCAA All-American
10 NBA scoring titles
Check back in 15 years and see how close Harrison Barnes is to this list.
I don't even see him being the next grant hill.
I swear people forget the numbers he put up.
He had a 20pt, 9reb, 7ast season.
He was good for 20-6-5 every season til those injuries came.
Also, Grant hill played PG for detroit, many of times.
I think Barnes will end up being a Caron Butler.
Why is this topic -- which was created by a 12-year-old who probably wears a football helmet, diaper and tennis shoes everyday to middle school -- still alive?
people always expect to have another mj or kobe or even lebron but there would never be another one like them thats for sure except for kobe's son if he ever decides to play when he gets old and i doubt if he could be as close to what his father ahs done and i can be alittle bias if ill say he would have a steller career like his dad cuz kobe's son is half filipino but the guy is only 3 yrs old so we would have to wait for another decade or so before we see him here in the nba draft site hahaha a player like jordan comes once in a lifetime so no comparrison to a player today or ever a player in the future is needed they would just have to be themselves in order for the to have a good career..........................................................................
OK why do people always gotta be compared to some one? Why cant they make there own name for them selfs?
Michael Jordan did average 13.5 ppg as a freshman at UNC. Tim Duncan averaged 9.8 as a freshman at Wake Forest. John Stockton averaged 3.1 and 1.4 as a freshman, than 11.2 and 5 assists in 39 minutes per game as a sophomore (hardly the mark of a future assists leader). Something that gave me food for thought was BTPH telling me about Harrison Barnes having similar stats to Paul Pierce as a freshman. I went on this whole thing about how he more than likely would not be Paul Pierce, but he said that Paul Pierce did not look like he would turn into the player he became either. Harrison actually ended up with a much better freshman season than Paul Pierce, shot better, grabbed more boards and averaged 15.7 to PP 11.9. Now, to say he will be Michael Jordan seems pretty out there, but I do not think that your statement is exactly the case, as some of the games best players have taken time to make a name for themselves as well. Even Michael Jordan.
It's funny how horrible it is to compare a player to MJ. That is just a BIG no no. If you have one of the best 2 guard prospects in years that meets that prototypical height/athleticism ala Shabazz Muhammad, people still are going to call you crazy for comparing him to Kobe. But what in your right mind would make you take that next step? MJ? What makes this prospect a better version of Kobe Bryant, because that is pretty much what MJ is? To compare Kobe to MJ is crazy. To compare a college Sophomore with Kobe is crazy. To skip the middle man altogether and go right to MJ? I don't even know.
Dam Fran Fran!! Just when i was about to Vote you Most Improved Poster..You Make this Claim!!! SMH
Harrison Barnes is among the top 3 players in the country...But he must Improve his handle...
1.He seems lost on fastbreaks..Seems more comfortable in half court..
2.Often Disappears for long periods...
3.Have trouble creating with his Left Hand...
4.Seems Too Satified with being 1 of the guys and not Stepping up like he Should...
