I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks but he looks a lot bigger than the listed 220lbs he plays at during the regular season. He looks closer to 230-235 now, I take it he bulked up because he will be defending 3s down in NOLA.
So you mean a good 230-235? Not a lockout 235?
He's not muscular like a Dwight Howard but he has filled out his frame, he looks really heavy but he's still very agile and crafty.
Jamal Crawford vs Tyreke Evans 2013 Summer League performance
I love the transformation because that's what you call a team player, who is buying into the teams system to build that chemistry with the core guys they have now. This upcoming season could possibly be one of his best seasons in his career, playing a position he was never accustomed to playing throughout his whole career from HS-NBA.
He actually played sf in highschool. He didnt make the transition to guard until college.
i think hes really pissed off and has a huge chip on his shoulder, he is 1 of the best players in the league and has delt with a lot of BS, i hope he just kills it this year. Philly stand up!
Ok so you just basically said Tyreke Evans is one of th best player in the league? I've heard it all on this forum.. this is fun
I mean he definitely gained mass, weather that is functional strength or just weight gain we will just have to wait(no pun intended) and see, but lets hope that he doesn't get too much more weight because his frame is reminding me some of early Boris Diaw who also started as a big point in the league. I don't think that will be a problem for Reke though but his body type is reminding me of Diaw. If you compare their bodies in the early stages and then Reke now to Diaw in Phoenix they are very similar.
He's already a bit of bulldozer when driving the lane, being bigger might help him boxing out F's but he could hurt his speed which he'll need defending perimeter G's and F's
I really like the pelicans defensive potential. Jrue, gordon reke aminu davis are all versatile. They may be able to adequately switch on a ton of pick and rolls
He just looks out of shape IMO... Looking too heavy and slow.
Even in a damn highlight tape he's having trouble getting past amateur/college guys.
His handle looked sloppy in that Youtube Vid above, he looks like he wants to be a 6'6 Lebron, which could be scary, But I don't think he's good enough to be the vocal point of Offense, think It should be Gordon, Davis and Evans in that order, Holiday is a good scorer too but he should be the 4th option on offense in New Orleans
I know I'm in the minority but I don't think this Gordon, Evans, Holiday experiment is going work. Who is the primary ball handler? Holiday? Does Evans come off the bench? Does this stunt Rivers growth? How many shot attempts does Davis get a game?
I don't think Jrue Holiday and Eric Gordon will have a problem playing with each other. Gordon has no problems moving without the ball, catching and shooting, etc. He's also someone who can make quick decisions with the ball.
The thing I like about both Holiday and Gordon is they'll make the right play. They're not selfish players.
Tyreke Evans on the other hand... I don't know where and how he fits. I'm not a fan of the signing.
Well he has the weight on him already which is a plus so if it is more mass then muscle he can put on muscle. Some ppl cant gain mass at all without supps look at prince, durant, daye, crawford, kevin mart, lamb, thabo, etc. So its up to him to make it all muscle which I think he will. The pelicans will play up tempo this season so the cardio a trim him up no doubt.
tyreke has always been a guy with a wide frame.its one of the reason he drives to the basket so well he's strong .as soon as training camp starts he'll be back to 220-225 range.i remember the lock out off season he was up to 230 but i think that was him out of shape in the clip he looks like he's not as fast at all .
New Orleans might struggle to make the playoffs in real life, but they are without a doubt going to be my go to team in 2K14
Definitely slow. He may be on the downside already.
According to an instagram picture last week he is working out twice a day and is ready to work hard.
Here's a pic: http://instagram.com/p/c9xVstvUZC/
Do you guys think he is massively overweight?
I don't think he looks massively overweight but for someone who gets paid to play basketball he should look much better than that. That's about how my body looks and I don't eat right or workout too much. Just basketball a few times a week and push-ups and sit ups.
With the leg injury Evans dealt with last season, it's confusing why he'd blow up.
