MrHogan87706ParticipantWell I watching on espn earlier this morning I heard they got 30 million in cap room. It got me thinking since they won’t able sign Dwight Howard, CP3, & J-Smoove. So just go to Plan B Hawks first priority signed Jeff Teague back If I don’t work minus well try to sign Brandon Jennings, they should go after personally Andre Iguodala & Andrew Bynum or Tyreke Evans & Al Jefferson to team up with each other.

ghettosermonParticipantIguodala and Jefferson would be an amazing coup. They would have one of the most most bruising front courts with Iguodala/Horford/Jefferson and their athletic/quick guards in Teague, Lou Williams, and Schroeder.

SubZeroParticipantAnd don’t forget Nogueira if he develops like he can. He could end up being a great defensive player who gets lots of dunks and putbacks

r377ParticipantI think Korver is signing with the Nets. They really need to sign Teague. Assuming Smoove goes elsewhere i think they need a decent SF.
Iggy
Corey Brewer
Matt Barnes
James Johsnon
Martell Webster. They could always take a punt on Blatche at centre and move Horford to PF. Al Jeff would be good here too. The suns are looking at moving Gortart, not sure if the Hawks could swing a trade

laarethekingsParticipantI think the Hawks are in no mans land right now. You land A.I. and Jefferson you have the same kind of team they’ve had for the last 5 years. 5-8 seed maybe the second round of the playoffs. The hawks should look to build in the draft, which means they have to be bad. Really bad. You need at least one superstar in the NBA to win it all. The Hawks have Horford who I would put as one of the better number 2 players on a team. But he can’t put a team on his back. That’s why to me it’s better to try and get a superstar in the draft. Because this off season doesn’t look like you’re getting one as a free agent.

OhCanada-ParticipantThey are in a similar situation to Philly. Philly has Noel and MCW, Atlanta has Nogiera and Schroeder. Main difference would he Atlanta has two high value players in Teague and Horford still within the organization and Philly already traded Holiday hut have NO’s draft pick and still have guys like Thad Young and Spencer Hawes.
I’d say the Hawks should not even come close to letting Teague go and give him the green light. Make a similar deal with Horford that Philly made with NO and rebuild. Not many teams are good at retooling, unless you have a championship caliber team or your San Antonio or Utah retooling usually leads to mediocrity.
Horford for Mccollum and Leonard plus a pick or some picks? Obviously not stating this will happen must saying a trade like that would be a good value trade and opportunity to rebuild the right way.

ItsRainingNegsParticipantThey need to stick with what they have, sign players that have deep playoff experience, and tank for next year.

ghettosermonParticipantIt’s far fetched but the truth is that with Horford, Teague, Schroeder, Nogueira, and all their future picks the Hawks no doubt have the ammo to make a run at Rondo if they could convince Dwight to return home to the ATL to join Lou Williams already there. Also having his 2 high school buddies Rondo and Dwight would definitely convince Josh Smith to stay in ATL. That would be their big 3, Rondo, Smith, and Howard are all elite defensively for their positions but you would have to surround them with a bevy of shooters although they already have Lou Williams and John Jenkins in place.

OhCanada-ParticipantI would love to see that team. Rondos lack of shooting would eventually limit the teams success. Dwight needs to be around good shooters or else teams will be able to double him all day.
