first what with fisher so deep in the 4th quarter of these games. He makes really bad plays every game sometimes i think he is trying to be a star. Then lebron is hurt cant guard anybody Put an offensive player in and make him play defense. I also think he is slow to make adjustments. I dont think he has done a good job in the finals

After the NBA announced a new rule against flopping, it was only natural that you would hear players speaking out about it. The first of what I imagine will be many waves against this new rule came from LA Clipper superstar forward Blake Griffin, who didn’t sound very fond of the policy, calling it a “good way for the NBA to get more money.”

Now in his fourth NBA season, a lot will be expected from DeMar DeRozan. Colangelo has labeled DeRozan as a face of the franchise in the past and ensured the young wing has been given every opportunity to play and develop. This year, a more mature looking DeRozan unexpectedly set his personal goal at an All-Star level after competing with the 2012 USA Men’s Select Team.

“(McGuire) is a defender first of all,” Casey said. “A tough, gritty, grimy defender who has experience. He is an excellent passer who can get the rebound and bust out to start the break. He is a legit 6’9 who can guard multiple positions, so that is going to be his specialty for us. A four/three (position) would probably be the best way to look at it, but that defensive type of guy that we need if we are having trouble stopping someone.”

Although undersized, Johnson plays a similar style to Valanciunas and could earn additional minutes at center. Toward the end of last season, Casey suggested Davis might be able to soak up some minutes here as well and playing these two young big men at both the power forward and center spots would help keep Casey’s rotation at the desired eight to nine players.

Chris Paul, Grant Hill, Trey Thompkins and Billups sat out the scrimmage.

Odom already gave the team a different look with a playmaking option in the frontcourt. With Paul and Billups out, Odom got a lot of touches and moved the ball well.

If the Clippers can keep Jordan on the floor in end-game situations with improved defense and free-throw shooting, the team may be able to climb into one of the top three seeds in the Western Conference.

“I don’t think he was his regular self,” Drew said. “There had to still be some concern lingering of the possibility of the arm being pulled back and reinjuring it. He spent such a long time and he had the surgery and started the rehab so that was a long process.

Feuds are good for the NBA. Well, usually. But it’s painful to hear retired players insulting, or downright trashing, greats of today.

It’s too early to tell how good Waiters will be right away, but here’s what we think we know: He’s a streaky shooter from the perimeter, he can get to the basket practically at will, and as coach Byron Scott said, “he can go over the top” of defenders once there. Overall, he’s looking pretty good.

“The thing I love about him the most is the way he talks out there on the floor,” Scott said. “He brings a different energy that we haven’t had the last few years. He brings a positive energy.”
