After watching Terrelle Pryor in his supplemental draft pro day and seeing his measurables the though came to me what if he played hoops instead. He was the Number 1 QB out of high school but also a top SG prospect his measurables are identical to James Harden 6’5 220 and seem to have the same level of althletism. What do you gusy think if he had chosen hoops what player do you think he would closely compare to?

Just a side note I am tired of black qb getting the "he has to work on his footwork" line. They always make them seem like lesser prospects when they are just as equal. Gabbert had the lowest pass %  if you want to compare him pryor and newton. just saying

But for some reason, when I watched Pryor’s basketball highlights, I always thought of Jarvis Hayes. About the same size and weight, both can dunk. I mean I know he’s got James Harden size but I can’t see him being the playmaker that Harden is. Jarvis and Pryor seem like the same if I were to guess

Now that you said that I checked the highlights they have some similarities. Overall I think he made the better decision to play football though.

He looks pretty good offensively from the video. I think he should be a WR in the NFL…he has the speed for it and he just needs to get route running down.

    Here’s his basketball highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MB1m1HljF_0&feature=fvst

Once he converts to WR or TE he will be a monster.

Here’s an interesting article from Dime Mag talking about what Terrelle Pryor could’ve been if he persude a basketbal career.

    http://dimemag.com/2011/08/what-could-have-been-terrelle-pryor-the-basketball-player/

I’ve never seen Pryor play other than HS BBall highlights, but from everything I’ve read of him, he seemed like a big man trapped in a wing-man’s body. Even the article says that ESPN had him ranked as the #7 power forward in the country. He wasn’t a very good shooter and lacked ballhandling skills, so he really needed to shore up on his perimeter game. Now that doesn’t mean that he would’ve played PF in college, but it would’ve been interesting to see how well his skills would’ve translated to the college game.

And I’m right there with you bra on the black QB thing. Analyst are always gonna say a black QB is "raw" whether the actual film suggests so. I’m getting tired of it.

Without going into any "black quarterback" stereo-typing, Terrell Pryor would be better off switching to another position in the NFL. Like somebody else said, tight end or wide reciever might be more his bag, QB is just a very hard position to play in the NFL. He may have been better off never being a QB in the first place, but we’ll see how his NFL career shakes out, if it does at all.

Obviously a fine physical talent in basketball, he was meant to play football. When you’re ranked as the number one football prospect in the country, and like the 17th basketball prospect (not to mention that his game was that of a combo forward but he is only 6’5), you go with football.
