If you were memphis...
Trade the 2nd pick to the Kings for the 4th & 23rd picks.
4th- Tyreke Evans
23rd-Taj Gibson
27th-Danny Green
36th-Jermaine Taylor
PG-Evans/Conley
SG-Mayo/Taylor
SF-Gay/Green
PF-Gibson/Arthur
C-Gasol
I'd prob take Rubio if I can get a good trade for him. There is no chance that I would take Rubio and keep him. If they want a keeper, they should take Harden for sure. Evans has memphis ties but Harden is much better.
Now they need to trade the #2 pick for minnesota's #5 and #6 picks as they want Rubio. This way they can get two of Hill/Thabeet (if avail)/Evans/Harden (if avail)/Curry etc. These will be sound additions-role players who can help Mayo/Gay/Gasol get the team going up. They then have the option to keep Conley as a back up or deal him for another draft pick/more experienced players. Makes sense and they could fill other back up needs with their late picks.

would you draft rubio and then come july 1st get involved in a sign and trade deal for david lee straight up (just throwing something like marko jaric's bad contract to even salaries)?
think about it this way, can the grizzlies get a better big man (what they need) than david lee with the second pick? For the knicks it seems like a no-brainer, they aren't signing him back unless it's a bargain anyway.
