Finally Iman is getting some respect among mock drafts, I certainly am not the only one over the past few years who has thought he is super talented. He has crazy good measurables at 6’6 for a PG/SG…. And I watched a few Georgia Tech games and in all honesty he was usually the most talented player on the floor, for either team, I noticed draft express has him going 22 and slamonline has him at pick 30. I think if he gets drafted to the right organization that he will develop into a really nice player.

    Thoughts?

I got the Bulls taking him last in the 1st round….they need shooters though.

IF he goes to right club. IF not he will end up like Jarvis Crittenton another 6’5 point guard out of G-Tech..But I think Iman has upsize..

A while ago when he was a sophomore, I posted why he wasn’t on any of the 2011 or 2012 draft boards. He may have been erratic, or turnover prone, but when I seen him play as well, he always stood out to me on the court. The talent is there, but he HAS to put the work in and be disciplined.

But Crittenton had the upside….dude just never got to play.

I think Shumpert could be good like Vernon Maxwell if he commits to a solid jumpshot and the shooting guard position.

He can fill up the stat sheet, rebounds, assist, steals, blocks, scoring.  But his 2 biggest problems, besides shooting is that he plays out of control and doesn’t always make the best decisions for a point guard.

He is a mix between Westbrook and Shaun Livingston.  Without the elite athletism of Westbrook and without the floor game of Livingston.

He gets drafted in the 2nd round. Hopefully he can make a roster, because he does have a lot of potential.

Once a first-round bubble pick, Georgia Tech point guard Iman Shumpert has risen up draft boards of late.

"I’m stunned by meteoric rise of Shumpert," ESPN’s Chad Ford tweeted Monday. "He’s getting looks as high as 13 to Suns. Knicks (17), Wolves (20) and Nuggets (22) in mix."

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports is writing similarly about Shumpert.

"Perhaps no player is rising faster than Shumpert, who is suddenly on the Phoenix Suns’ short list at No. 13," he wrote. "The Nets have had a strong interest in him, and he could be the player they’re trying to move up from No. 27 to get."

In his latest mock draft released Tuesday, Ford has Shumpert going to the Knicks at No. 17:

I believe he can go as high as #17 to New York, why not go for a legitimate combo who can potentially run the 1 full time once Billups hangs it up. If I were others I would not rule the possibility out, because New York is known for doing the impossible.

IRONICALLY, did you know the Knicks invited former GA Tech PG Javaris Crittenton to their Free Agent camp about a week or so ago? How will this work out if they plan to draft Shumpert at 17? Do they utilize both?

And come on now. did my comment REALLY deserve a negative? Some of y’all just being losers now…

If the Suns so desperately want a point guard, I would take Darius Morris and Jimmer Fredette over SHumpert any day of the week…..

to me Iman Shumpet is like a bigger Tony Allen or maybe like Terrence Williams without the passing ability

Might be a little exaggerated, but I agree that Jackson is going to be a much better player than Shumpert.

Shumpert is going to be a very good NBA player. I knew he was going to move up after workouts and he had a very good year on a bad team. Mainly because Hewitt was a horrible coach.

Jackson will be better, but Shumpert will be good defender. I just don’t see him as much more.
