Ralph Sampson just got inducted into the Hall Of Fame   He was a Legendary player in college and the early years of his NBA career but he fought with injuries during his career.  How do you think the HOF is going to respond to other great players who’s careers were cut short by injuries???      And do you have any names for the list?

    Grant Hill

    Derrick Rose

    Brandon Roy

All Legenday players, some of the most skillful guys we have ever seen.    Will any of them make the HOF???

I think Rose should make it to the HOF based on what he’s accomplished already; he’s a multiple All-Star and the youngest MVP in NBA history – that has to count for something.

The Atlanta Hawks are currently on a five-season playoff streak, but will enter the 2012-13 campaign with only five players on the roster from last season. Gone are dependable veterans such as Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams via offseason trades. In their place are at least eight players who are entering contract years.

Basically, the Cavs (2-1 in the preseason) looked like the inexperienced, exciting and up-and-down team theyre likely to resemble most of the real season. On the bright side, they won anyway.

Original wrinkles can be added to any system, of course, but – regardless of the origin – Nash’s successor is a big fan of the new offensive order in Phoenix.
“I really think it fits the players we have,” Goran Dragic said before handing out 9 assists in the 30 minutes he played in his first outing back in Phoenix. “Especially with a player like Luis Scola, who’s a really good passer from the high post.”

Shannon Brown, who finished with 12 points, eventually figured out that instead of a steady diet of accepting a ball screen from the high post, giving up the ball and starting on off-ball, two-man game can make things trickier for the defense.

“I tell Steve, you won MVP but I was playing with Smush Parker,” Bryant said. “He’s playing with [Leandro] Barbosa. I’m playing with Smush and Kwame [Brown]. My goodness. Smush Parker was the worst. He shouldn’t have been in the NBA, but we were too cheap to pay for a point guard. We let him walk on.”y4t3

"You just have to read how the defense plays it," Dragic said. "If they (defense) block the top side (on the corner screen), you just go back door."

“I thought (Varejao) was probably a little uncomfortable because he has played at five for the last three years for me, so switching to the four spot, there were certain plays where he was just a little lost. That is why we are down there right now working with him on the four spot, so he can get that. Andy is a fast learner, so I don’t think he will have any problem learning the four spot because when he is in there with Tyler that is the position he will be playing. I love the energy and how physical they were out there together and that was something I wanted to see.”

However, in the NBA it is often said that one team’s trash is another team’s treasure. Two days after he was released by the Spurs, New York Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald signed Novak off the waiver wire. It was Novak’s fifth NBA team since being selected in the second round of the 2006 NBA Draft./jkl;io

When Novak became a free agent this past summer, the Knicks organization was determined to keep him in NYC. The Knicks were able to exceed the salary cap to re-sign Novak only after a surprising court ruling that led to a settlement between the NBA and the players’ union, which gave players claimed off waivers their “Early Bird rights.”/k;’0990

The preseason is over and teams are making their final cuts to gear up for the start of the regular season on Tuesday. With our first real look at how all 30 teams have responded to roster changes and injuries, we’ve been able to rank them all from 1-15 within each conference. We’ll start with the Eastern Conference today, and we’ll rank the Western Conference teams on Tuesday.

What We Learned From the Preseason: Count the Hawks among the biggest sleepers in the league this year. They’ve been a playoff team for five consecutive seasons, but most assumed losing Joe Johnson would cripple them moving forward. That doesn’t look like it’ll be the case, as Lou Williams, Kyle Korver and Anthony Morrow have so far been able to make that up as a committee. We can’t forget that Josh Smith and Al Horford combine to form a very formidable frontcourt, and if Jeff Teague comes along the way he’s expected to, the Hawks actually look like one of the surer bets in the conference.

Lucas walked off the floor under his own power and did seem okay, although he was unusually subdued after the scrimmage. It will be very good news for the Raptors if the injury is as minor as Lucas indicated.

“The details of that conversation was between me and him and I ask that you respect that, but James was the first draft pick in the history of this franchise and a guy that we have an immense amount of respect for. At the same time, we have to do the right thing for the program, but we always want to be transparent and upfront with our players, make sure they understand where we are with things and also expect the same out of them and I feel I wanted to provide a forum for that and also share somethings with James about how I felt about him, how we felt about him and I feel that was an important conversation to have, but ultimately he went a different direction. But for us as an organization, we wish him the best he’s been important to our success and by no means to we regret the situation.”
