The reason Wake went through that losing streak was because of Wake coach putting Smith back in the lineup to let Teague play off the ball. It was a curious decision because Wake had only lost 1 game and Teague was looking like a ACC Player of The Year Favorite. However, I think Smith will be a decent backup point guard in the NBA if he comes next year, when he likely will produce the assist numbers that he had as a freshman and sophomore and get his name in the draft conversation again. I think he has potential watching him play on alot of different occasions.

I’ve watched Ish a ton over his career at Wake. It was pretty unfortunate that he had his injury which led to him obviously being really out of sync and he didn’t look too confident when he was out there. I like Ish a lot, love the energy he brings to the game and he has mind blowing speed. With that said, he has an incredibly inconsistent/weak jumpshot and has questionable decision making. He was a game changer in Wake’s win over Duke and played very well in the loss @ Duke but he struggles in the half court a bit too much. He’s nowhere near the player TJ Ford was at Texas while having a lot of the same limitations (jumpshot, size to name a few). I’d love to see him add a better shot and if Teague goes pro as many think he will, Ish will have every opportunity to run the show and take his game to a higher level.
