torukParticipantWhere did this guy came from? He has lots of energy but still is very raw offensively and defensively, he fouled out and made some silly plays but it`s nice to see someone put some effort in this soft atlanta team. He made this game interesting, if it wasn`t for him atl would not be in this game right know.

torukParticipantJoe Johnson realized tonight that it`s not that easy to score on shane battier.

IndianaBasketballParticipantIs it possible that Joe Johnson is already on the decline?

Scottoant93Participant^^^^too bad his contract is not on a decline

torukParticipantIndiana his scoring has been slightly declining since the 06-07 season and took a major hit last year, and he just dont play as atlanta star, there is no way and great player would let his team go to a triple overtime in a game like this.
His stas the past seasons.
2006–07 Atlanta 57 57 41.4 .471 .381 .748 4.2 4.4 1.0 .2 25.0 2007–08 Atlanta 82 82 40.8 .432 .381 .834 4.5 5.8 1.0 .2 21.7 2008–09 Atlanta 79 79 39.5 .437 .360 .826 4.4 5.8 1.1 .2 21.4 2009–10 Atlanta 76 76 38.0 .458 .369 .818 4.6 4.9 1.1 .1 21.3 2010–11 Atlanta 72 72 35.5 .443 .297 .802 4.0 4.7 0.6 .1 18.2 0 - Posted on: Thu, 01/05/2012 - 6:59pm #622022
FastAndFuriousParticipantI been said Joe Johnson was on the decline!
Look at his numbers!
06-07 25.0 PPG
07-08 21.7 PPG
08-09 21.4 PPG
09-10 21.3 PPG
10-11 18.2 PPG
11-12 16.0 PPG
IDK why people try to argue and take up for him, he is on the decline, and whats makes it so much more tragic is all that Money. He’s not even worth 40 Million is you ask me.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI think he can put up those numbers again but not with the Hawks.. If he was playing with the Magic, he would be a very nice playing with Dwight and be scoring around 25 a game..
If he played with OKC, he could still get around 20. Same with him in LAL..
He just needs to play somewhere else.. However, nobody will take him because he is the highest paid player in the NBA and not even close to the best player..
Only trade I could see is one with Orlando for Turk and others…
Since that wont happen and teams wont be giving out contracts like his anymore, he is stuck in Atlanta, where he will make more money than I ever will for being average..
Good for him.. LoL

IndianaBasketballParticipantA player on the decline with a contract that’s on the incline… Terrible.

torukParticipantanybody got something on ivan? i know he was a d-leaguer but anything before that? he played in europe or was he a good college player?

FastAndFuriousParticipantI honestly BELIEVE and Im serious if Tmac played the same amount of minutes as Joe Johnson he would have better numbers than him.
Joe Johnson is weak man, how do you grab 2 rebounds in 49 minutes? He trys to play so damn smooth and laid back, that ish aint working no more Joe, you need to get the job done whether you look smooth, or rough lol seriously, David Stern should allow the Hawks to change his contract up, he is not that type of player, never has been.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHey man.. We are off topic now.. And its because you started it… Dont get all fussy… Just enjoy that we are posting on your thread.. And no, nobody heard much about Ivan Johnson…

durantula83ParticipantSome rookie mistakes but nice energy from the guy. Same goes for the other unknown from the other side, Terrel Harris with 9 points, 14 rebounds (7 offensive!) and 4 assists. Chalmers really picked it up in the absence of James and Wade while Bosh had a big game as well. Big win for the Heat I’d say, this must sting for James and Wade after their loss earlier this week against Atlanta with them both in the line-up.

durantula83ParticipantI checked usbasket.com real quick, he has played in China, South Korea, Puerto Rico as well in the D-League.

aamir543ParticipantThe Spurs are the first team I’ve seen in a long time that’s shot below 40% from the field, but still ROMPED the other team. This team has turned into a defensive team, like they were earlier in the decade.
And on a sidenote, the Richard Jefferson "experiment" has finally seemed to work, he’s shooting 53% from the field and scoring 13 a game.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantApparently he’s a bit of a hot head but he’s part of the reason the Hawks cut Keith Benson so that’s saying something. Seems like a nice high energy player who plays with alot of fire.

Definitely, he was on the decline last year…

PulseGlazerParticipantJoe Johnson showed who he was when he asked the Suns not to re-sign him. If he truly cared about winning… Nash, Marion, and Amare… that might have worked, right? But hey, he has his own team and a ton of second round playoff exits. Way to go Joe.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI’ve seen 100s of players that went undrafted come out the 1st couple of games of the season and open people eyes with outstanding play..They play off adrenaline, while giving it there all, knowing this is their final chance to live the life they’ve spent years dreaming about..Some maintain playing well and find a home in the nba, while other players are out of the rotation after the all star break…

JNixonParticipantThe best thing about Johnson was that he played the game at his own pace and could score at all 3 levels. But now he just almost arrogantly stops the ball when he gets it and teams are starting to realize he has trouble with help D due to his slow pace and he is forced into awkward shots and bad passes. He still has a good shot and he can post guys because he’s such a big guard, and he also is an effective PG, but he has gotten less and less effective as a slasher over the past few years.
