McDunkinAllen Iverson wrote on Twitter that he has declined an invitation to join the D-League’s Texas Legends.
The Legends have been pursuing Iverson throughout the season.
"I thank Donnie (Nelson) and Dallas for the consideration and while I think the D-League is a great opportunity, it is not the route for me," wrote Iverson.
"I realize my actions contributed to my early departure from the NBA, should God provide me another opportunity I will give it my all," Iverson continued.
Iverson’s post was his first in 57 days.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantHow bad does he want to get back in the league? If he’s not willing to do a couple D League games to show NBA teams he can still contribute, then he won’t be back

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantYeah, especially after the way he handled the Memphis situation.

esperanzafleet69Participantdude, dont even get me started with memphis… micheal heisley was a terrible owner and made some terrible contracts in general.. i mean, they had let oj mayo walk…
as to the legends… i mean it’s iverson. eduardo najera is their coach. one of iversons old denver teammates. i think ai knows his time is up playing and wants to join a team another way.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantWhat does terrible ownership have to do with how a player takes his coaching? AI came out and said he would rather retire then come off the bench, that line doesn’t scream team player to me

Brew Meister SmithParticipantThis might have been that opportunity he mentioned. May not get another.

220ParticipantIt’s a shame Allen Iverson is so delusional, I imagine he could have spent the last 5 or 6 years being a useful scoring option off the bench. AI wants to be the man even though his time at the level is done, he’s just doing it in a different way now. Now he’s too good for the D-League and only wants to play in the NBA.

goneParticipantMakes sense, I mean does anybody really see iverson accepting a 10 day contract as an obvious “put butts in seat” move.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantIf Allen Iverson didnt want to come off the bench for a NBA Team…What makes them even think he would play in th D-League?

RUDEBOY_ParticipantIts a shame how the careers of Allen Iverson,Steve Francis,Stephon Marbury and Latrell Sprewell ended…..But Iverson can redeem himself if he’s willing to become a 6th man…..

McDunkinI would argue that Stephons career failure has left him pretty well off as far as business goes in China.
