I was on bleacher report today and i read an article that ranked the 5 best players at each position. I was shocked to see dwyane wade as the number 2 sg and Harden at 3. Dont get me wrong Dwyane used to be an awesome player, but lets be realistic, his body is wearing down and he is nowhere near the player he used to be. Harden, on the other hand, is blossoming into a superstar. Numbers dont lie either. Harden is averaging 26 5 and 5, as opposed to wades 20 4 and 4. Harden is clearly the better player now, i dont understand how in todays NBA you can rank Wade in front of Harden. What do yall think?

Yea, maybe now Harden is a little better than Wade, but Wade in his prime was better than Harden will ever be, and that’s not a knock against Harden but Wade was on the verge of becoming possibly a top 10 player of all time before injuries.

Put wade on Houston and his numbers go back up pre Lebron. 26 7 5. Gotta give the edge to shut whose done it for 8 years. When harden shared the spotlight he averaged 17 4 3

Yeah, as the third option. I’m not going to say either one is better than the other. Harden isn’t even close to his prime, and Harden is a much deadlier scorer that Wade. Wade was a better all-around player, defensively and making his teammates better, but we have yet to see Harden’s ceiling, and eh is already pretty special.

Wade was not on his way to being top 10 all time. Wade has had a nice career… just not top ten.

I said on the verge of POSSIBLY becoming that great, I never said it was etched in stone that he would be top 10, regardless Wade was better than Harden before injuries started slowing him down.

For a season Harden>Wade. For a Game or playoff serie Wade>Harden. Simple

    For what season?

Harden’s best season is this year…and he’s averaging 26.2 PPG, 5.9 APG, 4.8 RPG game yes GREAT NUMBERS.

But Wade has had better seasons than Harden and playoffs they dont even compare at this point….Wade’s best season in the NBA was 30.2 PPG, 7.5 APG, 5.0 RPG, don’t FORGET what WADE ONCE WAS!

Dwayne Wade during that season was 27, James Harden is only 23. At 24, Wade was scoring 27, 6 and 7, with pretty horrible 3 point shooting numbers. He also won a title that year. Harden at 23, is posting the numbers you listed. They are very similar, with Harden being a better pure scorer, and Wade being a better defender and slightly better all around player. It is very possible, James Harden takes the leap next year and becomes a superstar, and posts even better number that Wade did at 24. I’m not saying James Harden will be the better player, but his ceiling is higher, and one could make the case that Harden is a more complete player right now.

        Mate you are hilarious….

You’re saying Harden is better… and anything is possible but right now he simply is not a better player than wade was and even currently is.

exhibit 1 – Monta Ellis averaged 25 5.5 4 for two entire seasons. Theres a difference between putting up good numbers on a middle of the road team and being a top 3 player in the league.
Lets say Dwight Howard joins Houston next year. Do you think Hardens production remains the same? I don’t

Bill Simmons from Grantland when referencing that OKC should not have traded away Harden still puts Harden in the 10-15 range for best players in the league.

an easy way to compare is looking at MVP voting.

Let’s start with this season where you already lose your argument.
nba.com has Wade at #8 and Harden at#10

You have already been proven wrong right now. Then consider where wade has ranked in MVP voting during healthy seasons.
Pre Lebron – #5 #3 #6 #8 – the #8 is Wades 2nd season and shared the court with a still in prime Shaq. Same as the #6 rank.
The with Lebron he was #7 in year 1, #10 in year 2 and #8 this year.

You literally have no argument here.. and it makes me so happy to see that you are basing your decisions from a lack of knowledge and you going straight off the cuff.

It’s a good thing to compare this two players…

I hope Harden can win nine of ten games 1on1 against Wade in this moment. It’s much better one-on-one player. He can make a finish from nowhere…
But big thing it’s what numbers we talking about!
Harden it’s great individual stats player… But if i need to choise player for my team, my choise would be Wade in ten of ten times… Wade is a bigger winner, take more care about team, team stats is more important than individual and “Flash” can give his team everything it need. Some people because of this talking about Wade stats “than and now”, but i belive Wade now playing his best career basketball !! In last minute of losing game Hardent think about: “I need to score to win this game”, and Wade think about: “We need to score to win this game” with same passion. It’s a big Difference…

So, on court in my hood, i would take Harden to play in my team, but in NBA…definitly Wade.
