As a Tarheel fan im excited, I glad he made the right decision and didnt feed into the hype that comes with one and dones who are hardly ever ready for the NBA. If he continues to improve and play good next year he’s a top 5 lock.
Everyone going to be talking about McAdoo but watchout for PJ Hairston next year he’s going to have a breakout year too.

Bill Walton’s KneesParticipantBullock, Hairston, and McAdoo is a solid trio…Let’s see how well Marcus Paige can run the point…those three need someone to get them the ball

So raspyParticipantnot a shocker here, would’ve been outlandish for him to leave. UNC will be down somewhat (relatively speaking) next year, so he should be able to get alot of shots up. I expect a big year from him, too big and athletic for college defenses.

rickybobbyParticipantPaige plays like a mix of former UNC guards Felton, Lawson and Marshall, he’s quick an can score like Felton and Lawson but has a feel for the game like Marshall and can shoot the three. Its goin to be interesting how he runs the show. Dont forget about Mcdonald he’s going to be legit scoring threat.

surveParticipantyeah, but our problem is, we only have 1 true PG….a Freshman, and 1 backup PG coming off injury. we need a 3rd PG.

rickybobbyParticipantWe got Gardner Webb transfer Luke Davis whot sat out last year. Started 30 games. He’s a good shooter who should be able to run the offense in limited minutes.

UNCbasketballbumParticipantWhew, Mcadoo made me nervous by taking his time to decide to come back. I think UNC could surprise some people next year. We had all the talent this year but I think some chemistry was lacking and we never played with a chip on our shoulder. Of course the injuries didn’t help either. I think this year will be similar to the 2006 season after the 2005 national title team all bolted to the NBA. If Mcadoo can become a big time player and Mcdonald and Strickland return to full strength, I think it could be a fun year. Bullock will be back as well and Harston should be more mature.

surveParticipantok, great….and experienced too. maybe better than White?

UNCbasketballbumParticipanthope so. never imagined Stillman White would be our starting pg in the region final against Kansas……ugh.

rhbispParticipantThis should greatly improve his overall development. I expected more out of him this year, even in limited minutes. That’s fine, though. I still believe in him and think he can put up Thomas Robinson-like numbers next year. UNC would have been a borderline top-25 if he left. Getting McAdoo should keep them in the top-10

rickybobbyParticipantYea he should be because of his experience as a starter and expierence against UNC. Teammates really raved about him. Also White is better than people give him credit for. He performed well under very pressured fill moments. Also he was getting recruited by alot of mid majors and low Power conference teams until they found out he was going to take a Mormon mission right after high school so they backed off. Which he didnt only because of UNC late offer.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHe played extremely well last season in the minutes he did get, look for him to be a top-10 maybe even a top-5 pick next season.

akhan786ParticipantHe was going to be top 10 this season…
Roy up to his old tricks again….

Ghost01ParticipantGood for him…but….lets hope he’s as good as he’s cracked up to be. Cuz right now, hes a lottery pick. And if he’s suppose to be there best player next year and doesn’t live up to the hype, his draft stock could go down.
Also- lets not jump on the UNC is going to be legit next year bandwagon quite yet. I remember after they won the title and lost there 4 best players, people thinking Ed Davis and Deon Thompson could lead a team, and that team was in the NIT.

JNixonParticipantGood decision, he’s not anywhere near ready for the NBA right now given how bad he struggled within 15 feet of the rim.

rickybobbyParticipantEd Davis and Zeller got hurt for part of the season. And there was no consistent guard play. Larry Drew didnt perform as expected without a backup, Henson was playing the wing and Ginyard didnt return from his pre-injury form. Injuries and too many bigs without guards limited that team.

UNCbasketballbumParticipantEd Davis and Deon Thompson were about as good of leaders as Stan Van Gundy is at leading that train wreck in Orlando.

HaleParticipantHe’s either going to have an Ed Davis like So. campaign or a Thomas Robinson one. Either way he should be the go-to next year unless Paige is better then expected.
