FastAndFuriousParticipantI know most mocks have him going lottery, but dude doesn’t get much attention otherwise, he’s been playing very well and has put up some big numbers so far this year, he’s aruguably UK’s 2nd best player.
The twins may have more upside but right now today he has been UK’s 2nd best player IMO.
Whats everyones take on him and do you think he will move up higher in the lottery?

CameronCrazy11ParticipantI think like a lot of guys in this class it will ultimately depend who selects where in this draft. Young has been very impressive to me this season as well. Other than Randle, he’s been my favorite UK player to watch in the few games I’ve seen. I thought there were a couple times today where he should’ve slowed down and made the easy play instead of going for the home run. He looks very smooth and comfortable out there which you don’t normally see from someone so young (I think he’s young for a frosh on top of that). Overall, I see him as a future All Star type player in the league.

JordanC20ParticipantI wouldn’t say that he’s playing "very well" he has been alright…had a big game today just needs to keep that kind of consistency.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantAm I missing something? He was 5/17 from the field tonight, and is shooting 39% for the year. Yes he has great size and a nice game but in the end numbers don’t lie. Its time he starts hitting a higher percentage of his shots seeing as he was touted a tremendous shooter

ChewyParticipantonce we are outside of the top 7 picks of course.
I know the shooting % isn’t there right now, but his shot looks good. Once he gets to the NBA where practicing and playing basketball is his job, I think he will get the reps he needs to make that jumpshot nice!

tuck243ParticipantAll I see is 3’s as soon as he touches the ball. He reminds me of a Xavier Henry caliber player, but with a JR Smith mentality. Sometimes he puts the ball on the floor but all he does is shoot and it doesn’t matter how bad the shot is. Or even the time on the shot clock, he’s going to shoot. I never come away from a UK game impressed by James Young. He had a good game today and still shot terrible. I wouldn’t want him for my team unless I needed a 2/3 man and he was the best available.
The NBA is so tricky when anticipating drafts and guessing how players’ careers are going to be. The good thing I guess is he has a superstar’s mentality. If his play picks up I don’t see why he couldn’t end up being a decent player in the league. So far he has too many red flags to take him Top 10. Or lottery even
