As a Sixer fan, I hope they could get this guy. Trade for a higher pick as much as possible in order to land him. I just think he has the all-star potential and could improve with the help of Elton Brand being a mentor to him. Brand just don’t cut it out anymore so might as well just teach younger players. Plus, they also have similarities in their game. Both are good low post players but undersized power forwards.

I hope he ends up like Brand and not what my gut is telling me.. Mike Sweetney.  Knicks fans will love hearing that name!

I like Sullinger a lot, but his eventual quality is tied to what team he ends up on nearly as much as is PJ3.  Falling to a team with a good system could really help Sully.

He will be good hope he falls to us but if not there is that cat from North Texas Tony Mitchell, Terrence Ross, Austin Rivers or even Tony Wroten that can help them .Keep Brand to mentor whoever they get out the draft (big man) and Lavoy Alllen.Nick Vuk may be the center for this franchise in the future …he is not soft just a little green maybe make a deal to get Markeif Morris fromPphoenix for the 15th if they cant get Sullinger( Phoenix may want him or houston who has Patterson). They are not in a bad position just not great. They have too many good position players and no one is great at any position.

I see a little Z-Bo in him (Current Z-bo, without the C-Cup or attitude problems) if you get this guy anywhere after 10 he will be well worth the investment.

I actually don’t like him.  I don’t see much potential with him.  He’s a 6’8 thick big-man that isn’t athletic or physically strong.  He plays below the rim and doesn’t have a jump-shot.  Usually players like that, don’t survive.  Not to mention, he is really slow and is pedestrian on defense because of his lack of quickness.  He would need to shed a couple of lbs of fat and put on some muscle though, somewhat of the transition Paul Millsap made throughout his NBA career.

I just don’t see it happening.  He didn’t improve at all while he was in college and was usually bothered with size.  At 6’8, I don’t know how he’ll fare at the next level, especially with so many long and athletic bigs nowadays, they could really bother him.

Millsap, Boozer, Randolph, Landry… his game has comprables that succeed.  His work ethic and the system he’s put in will determine whether he succeeds and to what extent.

for a long time, i actually had him dropping out of the lotto in philly’s open arms, but i think Milwaukee might end up taking him. i know power forward isnt really an immediete  need for the bucks since theyre looking to bring back Ilyasova and gooden has been serviceable, not to mention Larry Sanders’ development, but then i was thinking, theres no guarantee of Ilyasova comming back, and they dont mind having gooden play the 5 and sanders playing back-up to either pf or c, they could still use a offensive power forward who can rebound. also feel his blue collar approach would mesh well with Skiles’ coaching.

The bucks have Udoh they arent looking for another PF as you all can see I like sully. If he drops to the sixers I think they have to take him that will improve their front court and depth plus give them the best scoring bench in the league thad, lou, and sully at the center and power forward at times. They already have/had on the of highest if not the highest scoring bench in the league.Moveing forward he a be an nice bulding block also.

I think if Sullinger was just an average athlete he could be good, but he is below average. I think he is really going to struggle against NBA competition. He has solid post moves but has no explosion and doesn’t have quickness either. He is a big body that carves out space and that works really well in high school,  well in college, and usually struggles in the NBA. The reason that Brand other than age struggles is he lost his explosiveness after the achilles injury. To me Sullinger is just like Brand in that he has trouble against athletic 4’s, I think sullinger will just be a younger version of the same problem.

thats right, they do have Udoh as well who works well into skyles’ hard on d approach. guess have to reedit my mock and see whose best for them. maybe sullinger will slip to philly. phoenix has more back-court needs and houston have 2 deserving power forwards of minutes not to mention Marcus Morris. even if phoenix doesnt address the issue of need, Sulinger may be the best player available but not the best prospect, and with them not competing any time soon means they would favor the one with more upside type player.

To say sullinger is not strong is rediculous…. I can think of maybe a dozen big men in the NBA who can compare to his lower body strength. Reggie Evans, Glen Davis, M Gasol, D Howard, Bynum, Perkins,Pitman, Hibbert, and ???

I don’t understand why everyone is bashing Sullinger saying that he had a bad season…I guess leading your team to the Final 4 is a down season.  The only knock people have on him is his body type/ath.  There are a number of players in the NBA with his body type and it’s not an issue.

Kevin Love had a much worse body type than Sullinger coming out of UCLA.  He is nothing like Michael Sweetney.  Look at Michael Sweetney on google.  No lie he is 400lbs.

Sullinger obviously worked on his body during the off season by dropping weight (just like Kevin Love).  I don’t see him balooning to 400 lbs like Sweetney or Tractor Trailor.

He’s been one of the best big men in college, he can score, rebound, he led his team to the Final 4, and he has shown the work ethic to improve his weaknesses.

I would take him over Drummond, PJ3, Leonard, Melo, etc all day.  The only big man I would take over him for sure is Davis and possibly Robinson.  He will be a solid pro with very little risk in drafting him.

His floor is Drew Gooden/Big Baby his ceiling is ZBo/Brand.  I’ll take that all day.

Remember a lot of people saying Anthony Randolph would be better than Love?  What about Boozer being a round 2 pick because he wasn’t a great athlete.  Nikola Pekovic is that guy an athlete?  What about Tyrus Thomas remember his upside.

Please give me some examples of high upside athletes (Perry Jones) that haven’t done much in college that turn out to be a better pro than (Jared Sullinger) a legit player that put up great numbers.

I think the thing is that the guys that learn how to use their bodies to score and rebound fare better in the L, because that’s a skill, as opposed to just out-jumping guys, and a skill (wether tangible or intangible) translates to the pros better, than just being a run and jump athlete.

Sometimes the run and jump athletes have the work ethic and smarts to learn things, but a lot of times they don’t get it and remain in the same mold as they first came into the league.

Stromile Swift, Tyrus Thomas, Marcus Haislip, Brandon Wright, Larry Sanders, while not completely worthless per se, are guys that fell well short of expectations.   Bosh, Aldridge, Garnett, fulfilled them.
