mookieParticipantRight now Harden but don’t take away from Terry. He had a great career and he’s still got a motor at his age. be fair…ask this question in 12 years

khaled_a_dParticipantJet age is catching him, like most of the Mavs players ,Harden is getting better every year
Jet had a gr8 career ,and he still has something to offer for many teams (He is FA after this season) ,but I think that last year was his last being the 2nd option for a gr8 team Harden on the other hand is the 6th man of the year and is gonna make the All star game probably in the next few years

FastAndFuriousParticipantHarden now of course, but at the same age(22-23),or stage of their career(3rd year) Jason Terry was a beast.

CynthiaParticipantIs this a joke?
Harden vs. Terry
- PPG – 16.8 > 15.1
- FG% – 0.49 > 0.43
- 3% – 0.39 > 0.37
- FT% – 0.84 < 0.88
- RPG – 4.1 > 2.4
- APG – 3.7 > 3.6
- SPG – 1.0 < 1.2
Harden has him beat in every statistical category except free throw % and steals, and even those are so close it doesn’t matter much.
You also have to consider Harden is 3 inches taller, 12 years younger, and has a beard.
Not even comparable in my opinion. Harden wins hands down.

FastAndFuriousParticipantPeople neg for stupid ish like speak before you neg or prove me wrong before you neg lol or learn how to read.
How wasn’t Jason Terry a beast his 3rd year in the league or when he was 22-23?
3rd year in the League Terrys averages were:
19.3 PPG 5.7 APG 3.5 RPG
At age 22-23(Second year)
19.7 PPG 4.9 APG 3.3 RPG
I didn’t say not once in my post that Terry was better than Harden, or Harden was better than Terry at the same stage in their career all I said was Terry was a beast, which he was.

CynthiaParticipantI never said he wasn’t a beast, he was good yes. But you also have to consider in his 2nd & 3rd year Terry was a starter…and playing primarily point guard. Sure in their third years Terry beats Harden by roughly 2.0 ppg and 2.0 APG, but Terry was also playing 9 more minutes a game because he was starting.
I’m pretty sure if Harden got an extra 9 minutes a game he’d score much more than 2 extra points, and probably at least 1 more APG, leaving him with 1 less assist than a point guard…Still not comparable.

FastAndFuriousParticipantYou don’t know that for sure, it may seem like he would Harden would average more if he played more, but you don’t know that for sure.
James Harden averages 16.8 PPG and 3.7 APG in 31.4 MPG this year(2011-12)
Jason Terry averages 15.1 PPG and 3.6 APG in 31.7 MPG this year(2011-12)
I could easily say the same thing if Terry played more minutes now he would average alot more, but technically when Terry played more minutes in his younger, more athletic days in ATL he only averaged two buckets more.
It’s easy to say that but until its done you have to go by what’s already proven.

Simple question, was Jason Terry playing with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook?
Not to mention the fact that James Harden takes only 10 shots a game, nearly 6 six less than Terry in his third year, yet only averages 2 less points.
You’re telling me that if Terry took 6 less shots, played 9 less minutes, and played with Durant and Westbrook, he would still have better statistics than Harden?

Malik-UniversalParticipantdamn minus 11 for asking a simple question? lol
i think ppl forgot what terry did last yr in the playoffs

thparadoxParticipantHere’s a comparison of Harden in his 3rd year (age 22) vs. Terry in this 3rd year (age 24).
Harden is a far more efficient player. WS/48 is a big high for Harden because he doesn’t get enough minutes. But it’s still a massive gap.

TallmanNYCParticipantWho is better right now Harden or Kobe? I think it is close myself. Kobe was the man but age has caught up with him and his ego doesn’t let him play team ball feeding his dominate front line.
