Da1potParticipantI was actually watching that game live and had the same expression you guys had…. He can’t even make that dunk when he has a wide open lane on a fastbreak! That was some NBA Jam shytt right there. I can hear the announcer with the boom shakalaka if he actually makes that….

Klove the allstarNo one doubted he could put up those numbers but some real believed he would be doing better then that. You may be happy with 9.6 8.4 and 2.4 blks but every wiz fan i know back home expected more and aren’t very happy with that especially since the wiz are losing. plus numbers only tell half the story, watching him shows the other half. The low basketball IQ, the bad man to man defense, dumb decisions
He is playing 12 more minutes then last year yet only putting up 3 more points and one more block. If i was a big wiz fan I’d expect more out of my third year center who has the physical gifts he has. a progression like Hibbert,Brook lopez,Marc Gasol. Where would you rank McGee out of all the starting centers

goneParticipant3 more points 4 more rebounds altering numerous shots….No wizards fans back home expected extraordinary offensive skills from him so far he has been good for what he does putbacks, blocks, altering shots, and rebounds. He was never developed overseas (Gasol) he has never been the focus of a college team or a nba team (Hibbert, Lopez). I agree he was overhyped, I agree he may end up being nomore than a chris anderson but you cant contiune to bager him in only his first real season of starting. Its not like haywood taught him anything, he was too busy fighting with ethan thomas for a starting job……

WizardofOzParticipantMcGee had a great stretch earlier in the season that started against Detroit when he ad 20 ponits & 15 rebounds, and the next game he had 24 points and 18 rebounds, and was still playing well after that, but since then, he has regressed so much, and I don’t know why. Flip Saunders has even considered moving him to the bench. Maybe some of it is because Andray Blatche was injured. I think having AB in the game makes it easier for JaVale, but JaVale has also put a lot of this on himself. He’s not boxing out for rebounds, crashes the boards too many times, and tries to cherry pick and gives up points like that. John Wall’s abscene has taken a toll on him too. It’s hard for a center that isn’t very skilled to score with your top playmaker out. I expect his play to get better when Wall comes back.

Klove the allstarHe put up good numbers before when wall was out. Maybe me being a Laker fan i’m spoiled and not content with average numbers when my team is losing. If they were winning it would be one thing. If Bynum was putting up those numbers and the Lakers were losing i would not be satisfied with that

WizardofOzParticipantMy brother is a Lakers fan. He is 21, and when we didn’t have cable back in the early-2000s, he had just started watching basketball and use to watch the Lakers on their championship runs on the NBA on NBC, and he’s been a Lakers fan ever since. He loves Kobe with a passion, and IMO, too much because he thinks Kobe is better then MJ, which I think is INSANE. He’s aWizards fan too, but when LA and the Wiz, are playing each other, he roots for LA.
