A friend of mine just posted a great video on Jimmer Fredettes career. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2meLn4DezrI

It got me thinking to the expectations this guy failed to meet. the kings were stoked to pick him up in the draft and then when he was there – he didn’t really do anything. Do you guys think he would have had a more successful career if he wasn’t drafted to the kings? Or was his game never suited to the NBA?

Jimmer needed to be in a better situation where they could have used him exclusively as a PG with pethaps some defensive help with a center who could assist defensively.  I don’t accept his issues with not being able to defend since Steve Nash had a pretty good career without being able to stop anyone and Fredette has very good offensive skills and can pass. In another situation, he may have made it. With a team like the Knicks, who have a defensive minded center and enough scoring elsewhere, fredette could have had a good career

He’s on a team right now that in 3 years has resurrected CJ Watson, Nate Robinson, Marco Bellinelli, mike Dunleavy, and DJ Augustin. A team that got Asik 25 million and actually found use of Ronnie Brewer. He currently doesn’t play. If he doesn’t succeed there, it’s safe to say it’s over.

I just want to see what he can do with consistent minutes.  It seems like whenever he does get them he produces.  Remember JJ Redick was a disaster his first few seasons and has turned out okay.  I think Jimmer is a 2 guard who needs to play along side an unselfish bigger PG that can guard 2-guards.  Being a part of a selfish kings team killed his confidence.

I hope the Bulls pick him up again.  We can really use his offense.  He’s a lights out shooter. The game DJ was out on maternity leave.  He played really good. Thibs can teach him how to play defense .
