Wavy BagelsParticipantJohn Wall is looking like a wall.

For_Never_EverParticipantI know he has been out, but I didn’t expect him a young guy to be able lose it like that yet. He looks like Raymon Felton in this photo.

SubZeroParticipantLol John Wall just tweeted that he was a member of the NBA Fit team

shooting-guard9ParticipantHave you guys ever had a serious injury to your lower body? ( 3 months or more?) It’s not easy to stay at the same weight when you are not able to run.

SiggyParticipantProfessional athletes have access to some of the best facilities that us regular folk don’t have access to to assist in lower body rehab and recovery. Ya know… like swimming pools.

druneave3ParticipantAnd personal chefs, nutritionists, etc. I think you can still do sit ups and resistance training that don’t involve the lower body also. This was a choice, and one that could be very detrimental to his rehab. More lbs. is not good on the knees. I would be livid if I was coach/owner/GM of Washington.

shooting-guard9ParticipantI guess you never had such an injury , and I’m happy for you for that, but swimming and riding a stationary bike, and doing stuff on the elliptical machine do not even come close to running.

ph90702You’re talking to the “Wall.” No pun intended. These people don’t get that a lack of exercise will make you gain weight.

For_Never_EverParticipantHe is suppose to comes back in two or three weeks, if he doesn’t perform well. I’m curious what the John Wall supporters are going to say. I mean come on Derrick Rose been out too, but he has been looking just as ripped and healthy as he ever did.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThis looks photoshopped.
I mean, his head is about the size of his torso. It’s obviously not his body, they just added his head.

For_Never_EverParticipantWho’s body is it that they photoshopped his head onto in the Wizards arena ?
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/08/2013 - 9:54am #737607
Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYou know, NBA players usually take some of their friends to the courts at times to shoot around. It could be a trainer, a family member of one of the players, a fan allowed on the court as part of some sort of charity thing. It could be anyone, just because he’s presumably on the Wizards court, does not necessarily make him John Wall.
I mean, am I really the only one that sees his head the size of his entire torso? Am I missing anything?

goneParticipantWell I don’t know if this is real or not but I know when any athlete suffers from a leg injury they do a lot of pool work and the stationary bike so it’s no excuse for him to get fat

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’d be surprised if this was John Wall’s real body lol.
However, I think people need to give him a break. Yes, the NBA does have state of the art rehab equipment and technology, but there’s nothing you can do when you have a stress reaction in your kneecap that team doctor’s are terrified will turn into a stress fracture (requiring surgery and ending your season). You really just have to rest and stay off of it. Eric Gordon was in a similar situation. He had some issues with his patellar tendon that just literally shut him down rehab wise and he lost most of the strength in his quad.
I think it’s wrong to compare Wall’s situation to a Derrick Rose’s. Rose was able to do cardio very early in his rehab. He just couldn’t run full speed or pivot/cut.

ph90702Anybody will gain weight if they can’t use their lower body.

goneParticipantThis is real I just saw other pictures but the angle makes him look huge it’s not as bad

aamir543ParticipantChill guys, give him two to three weeks to get in shape and he’ll be back. I won’t panic until I see him on the court He’s a big time talent and I hope his knee injury doesn’t curtail his development.

druneave3ParticipantI don’t think you would be so chill if you paid this guy millions of dollars to be an athlete. That should not happen, injury or not. That shows me you don’t care.

Lotto StudParticipantIf Jabari Parker can lose 20 lbs in the matter of 2-3 weeks it shouldn’t be anything for wall to bounce back.

Mr. 19134ParticipantThis is photoshopped I don’t care if John Wall was in a wheel chair his body type, age and metabolism make it very unlikely he’s gotten this fat in his time away which has only been a few months.
If this isn’t photoshopped then it was taken with like a 2mega pixel camera from a very bad angle distorting perception.
I believe Wall is gonna light it up as soon as he steps on the court. Him and Beal should immediatly gain chemistry from transition buckets, back door lobs, and drive and kicks, while the rest of the Wiz will receive a huge boost from the energy Wall will come back with.
I don’t believe it will last long but Wall has really been thrown under the bus this past year and I don’t think all of his criticism is fair. Sure he’s extremely raw with not much PG skills, but he’s such a rare raw talent that he can get by with it for just now.

BenchWarmerParticipantCamera doesn’t do it justice. I believe his diet (while being out) got a little less strict, coupled by not being able to work out properly. Realistically this weight wouldn’t take too much time to lose, but a fat john wall is a funny thought haha

EntropyParticipantLooks better in the other angles, just a bad shot.

Meditated StatesParticipantGive him 3 weeks of running and he will be back to normal. Give the kid a break.
