Let’s say the Kings end up with the 1st overall pick in the draft (like a 15% chance). Do you think the consensus #1 John Wall will be able to pair up with Tyreke Evans and be a great backcourt, or would it simply not work?

good ?. tyreke in many peoples eyes is not a true PG of course. thts easy enough. hes a SG more than a PG, and if wall goes to the kings, then tht wood make a hell of a backcourt. can it work? wall reminds me a lil of rondo. wall doesnt need to get 20 pts a game to be effective, so it can work, and it can fail

I think it’s a 60/40 chance …OF failing! Seriously though..That’d be tough to work with…Unless Wall is content with sharing the ball ALOT. Many say he needs to ball to be effective & Doesn’t Tyreke need it as well? It could work though, I doubt it would..

What is wrong with having two ridiculously talented guards in one team? They’ll be fine together. Dumars and Thomas got along so did Stackhouse and Iverson not to mention Curry and Ellis for a more recent look.

I actually liked the Benu and Tyreke backcourt. Benu played really well next to Tyreke so why ruin that chemistry. Sacramento issues are in the Front court. They need to get bigger there and more consistent. They also need to find the right rotation at small forward. and dont forget defense. Wall would not really help them as much as people think because to me it would limit the progress of Tyreke and Beno. Tyreke can be the man next to Beno but if you put Wall in the equation then you have a tug of war with Tyreke and Beno. If you look at Memphis i have seen so many games where i am like what happened to Mayo mainly because there are too many guys who need shots that he does get to showcase his full skills. Cousins would give them the inside guy they need that is strong and physical inside and should open things up for Evans outside shooting or they could go for Favors who could be a Amare type and they can do more run and guns and pick and rolls which Evans can run well.

On paper it sounds great and it could work but I feel like Demarcus cousins would fill a greater need and he’d flourish as well. I’m a kings fan and it’s apparent that perimeter oriented teams with guard dominant teams never win anything. Cousins would give us a low post dimension we haven’t had in years and we wouldn’t be soft up front anymore as cousins is huge and plays with a swagger that would be great for our team.

It’s not that they can’t play together.

They are just so ball dominant.

    Take the Celtics for example:
3 superstars (or ex at this point)

    Garnett
    Allen
    Pierce

Pierce is a guy that is pretty much ball dominant. Pierce needs to dribble around, use his body, or his speed to get his points.
Allen isn’t because he can come off screens and move around and get open.
Garnett is a post player, he can get offensive rebounds or just post up.

Now if you look at the Grizzlies

A very talented team, but they have 3 guys who are ball dominant

    Gay is ball dominant.
    Mayo is ball dominant
    Randolph is ball dominant.

    Look how they ended.

It’s not impossible to players to learn to play off ball. But with 2 players like Wall and Evans, with NO 3pt jumpshot. They NEED the ball in their hands to get their points. They aren’t spot up shooters or shooters who can catch and shoot.

I think the Kings would need to use that pick to trade down and try to unload Noccioni’s contract. The Kings backcourt is actually fairly good, and seems to be improving as both Tyreke and Beno continue to grow into their games, I do not think it would be a great idea to take on both Wall and Evans but if they did end up with Wall I would trust their judgment seeing as the Kings have a fairly good draft record considering what picks they have had to work with. Overall, I think the Kings main goal needs to be finding a bigman who can dominate the post on both ends of the floor.

I think this could work.. Its might just be me but it could work.. They might have to revamp most of the team but it could happen. Just surround these guys with shooters, which they seem to have, and let them go. Their C doesnt have to be able to hit 3s but just some long range game. They have guys like Omri, Greene, Beno who can shoot threes. Hawes, Thompson, and Landry have decent midrange game. Also, Evans and Wall arent terrible 3 point shooters.. I mean they arent Ray Allen by any means but they arent terrible either.. Have them take turns on the ball. Let them dominate the ball together. I dont see why you cant have 2 guys that are great with the ball on the floor together.. Especially when the rest of the team is filled with guys that cant create worth crap… It seems as if this is one of the few teams that could handle to ball hungry guards…

    Thats just me though..

Didnt we just see Kevin Martins career practically ruined when Sacramento tried to do the two dominate ball handlers thing.

Why the hell would they try it again. If they win the lottery trade down to Minnesota or New Jersey who have multiple draft picks andéor unload Nocioni`s contract.

Thid franchise needs Cousins or Monroe with no other exceptions.

Pierce has an outstanding Mid Range and Perimeter game. Evans and Wall scores based on Penitration and amazing layups. And both Wall and Evans are distributors who make defenders guess if they are going to pass or shoot type of thing. They are both sort of the same type of player except Evans is smooth and wall is explosive. Its like when Toronto tried putting Bosh and Oneal on the same team.

Either way trying it out would not be a bad idea either. If Wall gets drafted by Sacramento and it doesnt work Im sure there are 29 other NBA teams who would love to put an offer out for Wall or Evans.

The safe decision would be to trade down thou after seeing what happened with Martin.
