Wavy BagelsParticipantAlthough it will take much hard work and dedication to ATTEMPT to reach Jordan stauts, Crawford has the proper attitude. He’s not settling to be a mediocre player that has a few great seasons, some All-NBA appearences, etc. He wants to be better than #23. I wish EVERY player had that same mentality, would be a much more interesting league.

Scottoant93ParticipantNOOONOOOONOOO…..lets not forget he dunked on Lebron
But in all seriousness, Im glad he is striving to be the best, but He is a High Volume shooter(38% from the field,26% from 3), and is not well rounded as MJ was, and he is putting up good numbers(despite shooting%) on a bad team, He might turn out to be a decent player but nothing close to being best. I do have to add though, that I love the "My mom is going to say I’m better than him." quote haha.

marcusfizer21ParticipantHe should be thinking about passing on Nick Young/JR Smith before setting any high standards like these…

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’ll say this about him though… When I saw him at Noblesville High School in Indiana during a IU recruit showcase before his freshman season at IU, I NEVER EVER would’ve thought he’d make it to the NBA. Good for him that he’s made it.

torontoraptors10ParticipantI don’t know what the big deal is, he didn’t say he IS better than Jordan, he said he WANTS to be better than him and that’s fine with me.
He’s setting his sights high and no one should damage his confidence. He’s using Jordan as motivation and it’s not like he was compared to him (DeShawn Stevenson). Good for Jordan Crawford.

projectpat310ParticipantThe rest of the quote said: “I feel like I’m better than him, anyway. My mom is going to say I’m better than him.”

M-DYMESParticipantAgreed. I am a fan of Crawford’s and think he will be a very good nba player.
After seeing him destroy my PITT Panthers, I was sold on him. But, he will never be even close to being in the same realm as Jordan. Glad to hear he has that mentality, hell it’s probably what has gotten him to where he is today. But he has a LONG ways to go b4 reaching Jordan’s level.

GrandmamaParticipantI didn’t read the article, what are his "high" expectations? Munchies after his next bong rip?

JNixonParticipantAfter Crawford made that damn near 100 foot shot against my KState guys….anything is possible. Lol
No but really, you kind of need guys who say stuff like this to make the league more interesting. He’s not going to be better than Jordan, but I dont mind it really because now you have a guy who you know is working hard to reach a REAL high level, whether he gets there or not.

torontoraptors10ParticipantI saw the quote but I think Crawford is smart enough to realize he won’t be on the level of Jordan. I think his intentions were different when he said that quote. It depends on how you interpret the quote. When I read it, I felt he was just stating how he feels good about himself and he wants to play like he is better than him, there is nothing wrong with that.
If I was in the NBA I would strive to be the best, and the best is Michael Jordan. I mean, you’re at that stage in your career where you’re in a position that not a lot of people can reach, obviously he has Michael Jordan’s career in mind. I wouldn’t tell myself, "Oh I want to strive to be Antoine Walker." I would tell myself, be the best that you can be and that would be on the status of Michael Jordan.
