Depends on the lottery results

A lot of people have Hill ranked as the second best PF in the draft. Griffin will obviously be off the board, and Thabeet probably won't drop below 3, so if you have the 4th or 5th pick and need a PF or just some frontcourt depth (like OKC, Memphis, or GS), Hill might be your best option. Whether or not he's a top 5 pick will all depend on how the lottery unfolds since teams like to draft on need and not simply just the best player available. Players that are lottery picks possess a great combination of production and potential. Hill put up 18 and 11 this year while displaying enough athleticism to show he has some upside.

He really isn't deserving of

He really isn't deserving of a top 5 pick, but when you have a draft like this I guess you have no choice but to pick a guy like Hill. He'll be a Mikki Moore with a jumper. I hate to compare him to Mikki just because he has dreads, but that's who he reminds me of. He brings the same energy and can run the court just like him.

Im with michaelds

yeah i just dont see it. the kid has a high ceiling to be sure, but he might be one of those guys that just doesnt realize it. hes just so raw and inexperienced. hes an athlete and HAS been getting better however of late, so maybe he makes it. I just dont think so.

That said, he will be a top 10, maybe a top 5 pick with teams envisioning a "Chris Bosh (not my opinion!)-at-best and Joakim Noah-at-worst situation."

for me? I dont see anything more than maybe a more athletic mareese speights right now with a floor of hilton armstrong or something... but what do i know?

i dont get all the love

in response to micaelds, jordan hill does not have a jumper. he is extremely raw and relies mostly on his athleticism to produce his points. i dont understand why he is top 5, theres probably 15 to 20 players that i would pick before

On the right team...

J Hill could flourish in the Knicks system. I don't think he'll ever be great, but he plays hard and runs the floor extremely well. He's top 5, because this draft is nearly all potential players. Nearly every player mentioned has some kind of knock in this class.

Hill is the next Stromile Swift

He's another guy with tremendous athleticism & "potential" but never put up numbers that justified getting picked high. He hasn't proven to be able to dominate in college, so what makes people think he can succeed in the NBA? He'll sit on somebody's bench for the majority of his rookie contract, show a couple of glimpses of something good & somebody will break the bank to resign him still based on that potential. I'm always very wary of guys that don't produce in college.

Not to be disrepctful, but you must not watch enough Arizona basketball...Jordan Hill has proven that he is capable of hitting a 15-17 foot jumper on a pretty consistent basis...I do have to agree with you on the point that he does have to rely on his athleticism quite a bit to get points, as he can be pretty one dimensional at times...However I think that if he is able to refine his back to the basket moves he could be worthy of that top ten pick...He is a terrific athlete with an outstanding motor...

yeah drew gooden was a high

yeah drew gooden was a high pick, has good athleticism, and can knock down a j. i think gooden is stronger but hill is more athletic so maybe a mix of gooden and david lee.

Hill will be hit or miss

HIll is pure potential. He has only been playing basketball for like four years, imagine what a good nba coach can do with his athleticism. If does end up being a bust he can always go back to pitching, apparently he was good at that in high school. He'd fit well on the Clippers, him and gordon would create a good flow.

Honestly Just a First

Honestly Just a First Rounder to me. An athletic PF but not deserving of a top five pick.

jumpers?!

jordan hill does not hit 15 to 17 foot jumpers consistently! i dont know what Arizona games you were watching but if I was playing against him I would have no problem letting him shoot those all day long
