Jordan Hill Is Ridiculously Overhyped
Charlie V. is better than Drew Gooden, and Jordan Hill don't have no where near the skills Villanueva has. Charlie V. is 6'11, can handle the rock like a guard, post up, face up, hit jumpers from out to the three point line, shoots 87% from the free throw line, and he's a great passer from the high post. Jordan Hill on the other hand is still very raw, he started playing organized basketball at a very late age, so his grasp for the game is still not there yet and probably won't be, till he's like 5 to 6 years deep in the NBA. Hill scores off run outs, cuts, putbacks, alley-oops, and sometimes can hit a mid-range shot or two from 15 feet. When Hill drives to the hoop, he dribbles and puts his head down and goes to the tin with reckless abandon, he's clumsy with catching a pass, he's very bad at passing out of double teams, and he has absolutely no offense game, other than this jump hook he uses, that he does with no form of body control, it's just flat out wild. To sum it up, Hill is a long 6'10 energy guy, much like Drew Gooden, who became a very high lottery pick regardless, to the Memphis Grizzles with the 4th overall pick, in the 2002 NBA Draft.
Must agree, don't understand the love affair with J.Hill. He is is a nice role player but it seems like people are trying to make him out to be the next big thing and I don't see it. He is a Drew Gooden clone and we had Gooden down here in Memphis and probably took us half a season to trade him. Look Gooden is a pretty good player and I wouldn't mind having him on my team now but he wasn't worththe 4th pick. And somebody will draft Hill and soon they will feel buyer's remoarse. And the Charlie V. comparison there not ib the same class of player skill guy and energy guy. Charlie V can do everything that Hill can do but Hill can't do half the thing Charlie can. But I''m not saying that Hill is a bum, he just goes to the right school or something because he's getting plenty of pub or this is just that weak of a draft that role players are being treated like star players as far as draft status goes.
I agree that the comparison to Bosh is a bit extreme. Hill has nothing close to the shot that bosh has. He is a tremendous athelete and knows how to use his ablilities. Yes his post game is unrefined but that will come with maturity. I like the drew gooden comparison I think down the road he could be a good contributer to his team. definatley not a franchise player.
Gotta disagree a little. Not sure he is overhyped I just think this is a bad draft. As far as Cahrlie V yes he is more skilled but he doen't play hard. He was the same way at UCONN. Hill plays hard is as athletic if not more athletic then Charlie V. I think his game will continue to improve over the next couple years and he could be pretty good
I believe that Drew Gooden comparison is false because Hill does have an offensive game he has a lil jump hook an good moves in the post... I wud say Jordan Hill is more in the mode of a Former Wildcat Channing Frye because he isnt a role player @ all i beliveve he has trhe potential to become a solid Pac-10 Center an can give Taj Gibson, Aaron Bynes, an Jon Brockman , MIke Dunnigan for a name for the best big men in the Pac-10...... Its just that he hasnt taken over his final 2 years as Frye did( leading Arizona to the Elite Eight in 04, which went out in a very close game to Illinois in 04 led by Deron Williams, Dee Brown an the Illinois squad that went 37-2, an lost to eventual National Champion UNC).BUt he has a year left an his game had blossomed a bit more an im lookin forward to seeing him an Jamel Horne put up an strong & solid season an get into the NCAA Tournament
No............... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
That ruined my day.

Jordan Hill's NBA comparison on this site, is Chris Bosh, is NBADraft.net serious? Hill has no where near the skills Chris Bosh has, I think Jordan Hill is more like Drew Gooden.
