Hello, friends, it’s ya boi ProudGrandpa and for those of you old-timers who are familiar with Journalism Camp Parts I and II, I thought I’d give a little closure to the situation in my typical tongue-in-cheek manner.  Here’s Part II for context (and the link to Part I is within that):

    http://nbadraft.net/forum/journalism-camp-part-ii-proudgrandpa-returns

So Andrea and I continued to be good friends because hey, female that talks to me.  And early this past summer, ole Garrett the Boyfriend sorta broke up with her.  So I’m all like "yeahhh, my chance with this girl who lives 2.5 hours away (Indy to Cincinnati) has arrived!"  Just kidding, it was more like "Poor Andrea, I am a good Best Guy Friend who doesn’t like to see his friends be sad, especially since this is a girl from whom i’ve moved on."

So I guess I kinda helped her through things, even though most of the time I was like "lol no one has ever come to me after a break-up before, nor have I ever been involved in one and I have no idea what I’m saying lol" but I guess Andrea appreciated all my help and compassion.  So things were cool and we kinda texted a ridiculous amount all summer long and that was cool and she joked about how we should totes get married and I was like "yeahhhhhh…………………………………………………funny…" but it’s whatever.

And then college started.  And she developed her love interests at U of Dayton and I developed my love interests at Ball State, girls who, unlike Andrea, had red hair and lived right down the hall from me (hellllz yeah coed dorms #honorsdormswag).  And we continued to speak every now and then as good friends do.

And then one day, she got back together with Garrett the Boyfriend.  So that was a surprise.  Now, I wasn’t sure how to feel about this, because I was happy for her but I always got the vibe that he wasn’t nearly as cool as she thought he was.  But hey, I’ve never met Garrett the Boyfriend and he IS a basketball fan, so there’s that.  Meanwhile, I was getting swiftly friendzoned by [insert actual name here] the Red-Headed College Love Interest.  She was intimidated by my swag, or maybe she didn’t like the fact that I was shorter than her, who really knows.

    ****************************

These days, Andrea is still with Garrett the Boyfriend and I’m busy fending off the females after I doubled my intramural season high of 8 points with a 16 point performance this afternoon (that’s more or less accurate, I’d say).  But more importantly, I realized that Andrea wasn’t quite what I’m looking for in a female.  And even though I’d always known it would never happened (in case you couldn’t detect the sarcastic tone when I referred to her parents as "my future in-laws" in my previous edition), it was good to reach an all-time high of contentedness with this fact.  So anyways, I’m El Bachelor and I’m ballin’ (I’ve raised my intramural PPG to 3.6) and I have a 3.3 GPA that should be higher and life is just grand.  I have an awesome female friend named Andrea and right now I’m trying to decide who to take to the Honors College Formal and it’s looking like it’s gonna be my attractive friend Megan even though she has a boyfriend because I’m harmless and it’s a long story.

For the last edition of Journalism Camp, this is ProudGrandpa signing out.

Thanks, NoMoney.  Perhaps I’ll find another my love life-themed series to write about.  I’m glad you appreciate what I’m doing here on the ole Off-TOpic forum
