MattHoopsParticipantDo you guys think Kemba Walker can be a starting point guard for a playoff team? Is his future as a Jason Terry type or could he start for a contending team? Always appreciate your thoughts!!

RObin PadillaParticipantKemba can be a good player. He needs to improve his PG skills and use his speed and quickness to get others involved.

MattHoopsParticipantjayth1jy…A lot of guys have proven it in college, but that does not always mean it will work in the pros. Look at Mateen Cleaves for example.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantHe can be a good starting point guard in the league, but I think he will best be maximized as an electric sixth man off of a playoffs team bench.

KHAM83ParticipantWell, Terry was the starting pg for the Mavs team that were up 2-0 against the Heat (Shaq-Wade) during the finals. So yes he can, but by all means, if he is the best player on the team, like Terry was on the Hawks, they cannot contend.

Mad MaxParticipantThere’s a handful of PG’s I’d rather have than Kemba, but that isn’t as much a knock on him than a statement of how many good PG’s there are right now. I think he would be the 3rd or 4th scoring option of a title team, maybe the 2nd guy if he were paired up with a Dirk type player and a bunch of other strong role players. Remember when Dallas won the title, Jason Terry was their #2 go to guy. Dallas could do that because they had Dirk who was playing the best basketball in the league at the time, and bunch of great role players, that were not really big time scorers, like Kidd, Marion, Chandler, Barea, Stevenson. So you never know, but the Bobcats still need to find a go to guy on offense, because I don’t Kemba is good enough to be that on a title team, and MKG is still to young and raw to determine if he can be that kind of player.

MattHoopsParticipantCharlotte is building some nice pieces: MKG, Walker, Biyombo. They need do need to draft the franchise player…. I agree.. I think he could start for a contending team, but would be a really good 6th man for an elite team.

220ParticipantThe Bobcats and a lot of other teams need to draft a franchise player, but obviously it’s not that easy seeing as only a few teams have franchise players.

mj23mj23besteverParticipanti also think kemba would be better suited as a great 6th man on a contending team im not saying he coulndt be a starting pg on a playoff team though because imo he could be but hed be better as a scorer off the bench

BigChamp12ParticipantI think Kemba can be a successful starter for a playoff team, but he definitely cant be the team’s best player
