Kings Coach Keith Smart says his Team will Use Harlem Globetrotter Plays from 1943
Kind of a misleading title since it makes it seem as if they are using the exact plays that the Globetrotters ran in 1943, but what's new in the media in this day and age. Anyway, I like the idea and hope that Tyreke, Robinson, and Cousins can excel with the extra space to work with. Kobe, Pau, and Bynum game tape might not be a bad thing for them to donate 2 hours a day to.
It's not 1943 but it's close
OK,So Smart shouldnt get mad when Cousins tries a no look behind the back pass that goes out of bounds.....
I was saying this on SLAMonline, I really like the idea of the triangle with the Kings. It compensates their lack of a true PG, gives a bit of structure to their offense and they have all the pieces they need to get it to work; big men who can pass and handle the ball some (Cousins, Robinson), a wing player who can create his own shot (Tyreke) and point guards who can shoot the long ball (Brooks, Fredette).
However, I do have my concerns about Keith Smart running it, I'd be much more comfortable with Brian Shaw (or Phil Jackson, obviously) at the helm of a triangle offense.
Still, it will be interesting to see how it pans out for the Kings, because God knows their offense couldn't be any uglier than it has been the last few years.

Keith Smart will have his Kings using plays originally run by the 1943 Harlem Globetrotters http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/keith-smart-sacramento-kings-using-plays-originally-run-165044144
