bigblackNbeautifulParticipantRumours on the jazz forums is jimmer and the 7th for burks and the 21 with the jazz targeting McCollum and the kings targeting snell. As a die hard jazz fan Idk how I feel about giving up burks but adding players at 7 and 14 and jimmer sounds promising to me.

BasketBalAllanParticipantI have heard the Kings like Snell and they are looking to move Jimmer, but I have yet to hear about them and Burks.
It would be interesting and if they Kings did pull the trigger on it I think it would be a good thing. Though it would mean the Kings certainly needing to move a guard…

SmooveKRYPTParticipantSo I’m guessing the Kings are prepared to say bye to Reke & Thornton

CavFanPRParticipantThe jazz win but Burks does have a lot of talent and the kings could use him incase Evans leaves.

Velvet HoopParticipantThe Kings aren’t exactly known for making great decisions (sorry kings fans). But this would a sign of maybe the new group turning things around.
I like this a lot. Burks isn’t getting a lot of opportunities behind Hayward, and if they like Snell anyway, I see it as a win-win for them because they get rid of Jimmer. Not that I dislike him all that much, he just doesn’t fit with the Kings.
I think they could still play tyreke-burks-snell together, but may even be able to flip reke for additional assets at this point. I’m not really sure what the market is for him at the moment, but I think someone is willing to give up to much for him. He is not that far removed from that rookie season where he was 20-5-5. Although all three categories have dropped every year for him, he did set career highs in fg% and 3fg% (48% & 34%) last season.

bloodshyParticipantBurks is probably more talented than anyone that will be available at 7 in this draft, yet he’s been terribly underutilized by the Jazz and there is no indication that the Jazz have figured that out yet.
On the other hand, Jimmer is a limited player, but seems to be the type of player the Jazz would make the most of. Since Jimmer has virtually no value to the Kings, losing him is a zero impact proposition. Adding a talent like Burks for a 14-spot down-shift in a draft that’s thin on top, but deep overall, seems like a smart move.
I think this trade helps the Jazz in a big way, but only because they will never use Burks properly. On the other hand, I think this may be a trade that the Jazz “lose” because I think Burks is going to go off in a big way somewhere once he’s used correctly.

bigblackNbeautifulParticipantThat this trade would not only allow the jazz to move on from the millsap jefferson era by still drafting a big at 14 but hopefully the mo williams experiment ends to. Jimmer and Mccollum add much needed outside shooting and both allow the ball to be dominated by gordy who frankly has been the best facilitator on the jazz since d-will left and has all star potential. The one problem i see is it leaves the jazz very thin on the wing. Lets hope its Jabari in a year!

ProudGrandpaParticipantI’ve heard (read it on Hoopshype) that all the Jimmer rumors were smokescreens and that they haven’t tried to trade him to anyone.

Bmore_DCParticipantThis isnt the Kings of old…They have new ownership and i can sense something pretty business-like in their new approach. I expect a lot of moves by them and to be very aggressive. That being said, aggressive doesnt always mean good lol.

phila9012ParticipantThis is great for the Jazz they get to get either trey burke or MCW or CJ McCollum while getting a decent back up point guard. Then they can use their 14th pick on a bigman maybe Olynik because he would fit well with Favors and Kanter.

bigblackNbeautifulParticipantWho doesnt want to see Jimmer with the Jazz especially now that the hype is gone. He could be a role player there for his whole career and every jazz fan would love it.

TheLastWordParticipantGood move for both. Burks would blossom in a less stringent system. All he did was feed the post in Utah.
