BBall4life88ParticipantWhat are your guys thoughts on Klay Thompson?
Other sites have him going higher than this site, I’ve seen as high as #11 to Golden State, and have him going before Burks.
I’m starting to really like this guys scoring ability and length. He looks like he could play the 2 guard position in the NBA, he has the length to defend but his athleticism will be tested.
It seems like he has more moves than the typical spot up shooter and can get his own shot off. He’s shown that he can score 22 points per game in the PAC 10 which is impressive considering Derrick Williams averaged 19. His stock has risen in my opinion, especailly teams in need of a shooting guard.
He kind of reminds me of Alan Houston for the Knicks.

BBall4life88Participanthaha, well thanks for the link
I just don’t hear much about him and I hear a lot about Jimmer, both can shoot great but Thompson has much better length and I think he could be a sleeper.

paradigmnParticipantHe’s too GOOD to be a sleeper….I look at sleepers as the type that is "barely on the map" if you will….but I understand what you are saying….he has the possibilty of being better than people think he will be….lets call him a NAPPER….lol….people aint sleeping on him, but they might take a nap.

BBall4life88ParticipantYou’re right….I didn’t mean sleeper but I think he’ll be better than people think. He’s a "napper"

MJBrownParticipantI have him going to Charlotte at #9. I haven’t seen anyone else have him going this early. I think its a great fit. He’ll play the 2 in the league. He’s big and can score and he’s an athlete. No guarantees that he goes this high, but at the end of the day, I don’t think he slips past Indiana at 15.

mosdefParticipantPure shooters from the SGs position are usually downgraded in any draft yet pure shooting SFs are raised for some reason. Reggie Miller went 11th. Allen Houston 11th. Kevin Martin 26th. I think its cuz when they hear jump shooter they think thats all they can do. The difference between the 3 mentioned compared to a JJ Redick or someone like that is that they all stood at 66 or 67, giving them length. I dont think Klay will be Reggie Miller but I keep hearing an anylsis compare him to Allen Houston. I think hes Kevin Martin without the funky delivery.
If hes anything like the above mentioned then he will be fine

JNixonParticipantKlay Thompson is very one-dimensional and a player who gets shut down too easily by good defenders. He also notoriously struggles during conference stretches, which is a sign he’s not quite effective when gameplanned for. He’s a guy I’d take in the late teens or 20’s, but he’s not gonna be worth a lotto pick. He’s a shooter, but he’s not an elite one like a Kyle Korver.

ilike.panochasParticipantHis game reminds me of Mike Miller. Probably need to improve his one on one game a little better to validate that comparison, but thats who he reminds me of, Miller was an excellent 6’8 playmaker in his prime, and I can see Thompson having similar skillset.

JNixonParticipantMike Miller was a better ball-handler and passer than Thompson and a better athlete and slasher. Not to mention he’s always been bigger.

kobyzParticipantKlay Thompson is very raw right now, he looks out of control a lot of the time, particularly driving to the basket.
