Since the recent trades from the Bulls and the Heat to clear up cap space I think the Knicks will unfortunately not have the big free agent signings they were hoping to have. I still believe they can get quality players and make the playoffs. Here are some players I think they can get through trades and free agency. What do you guys think of this roster?

Pg- Steve Blake / Toney Douglas / Patrick Mills
Sg- Andre Iguodala / Andy Rautins
Sf- Danilo Gallinari / Wilson Chandler / Landry fields
    Pf- David lee/ Micheal Washington
C-Andries Biedrins / Earl Barron / Jerome Jordan

    …what the hell?

so we kept our 5-6 man roster, and just added Blake, Mills, Biedrens, and re-signed Lee?

It’s silly, but possible I guess.

The Knicks are significantly under the cap, so if the 76ers and Warriors were willing to dump the salaries of Iguodala and Beidrins, the Knicks could get both of them for future second round picks or something. Similar to how the Clippers got Marcus Camby from the Nuggets.

Doesnt look too bad on paper. Saw on Twitter that Chris (retard) Broussard say that the Knicks are high on Joe Johnsons list of teams. According to the media the Knicks will get nothing. THe Bulls will get Lebron and Bosh. Miami will get Wade and Stoudemire. Knicks will get Johnson and resign David Lee.

      roster something like this
      pg. Ridnour Douglas
      sg. Johnson Walker Rautins
      sf. Gallinari Chandler Fields
      pf. Lee Washinglton
      c. Barron ? Jordan Curry

not great…but I like the depth.

how about this. Knicks sign Lee to a big contract, while the jazz sign Boozer to about the same amount he was receiving last year. Then a sign and trade happens letting Booz and Lee switch places. Knicks sign Joe Johnson to the other max contract, as well as sign Raymond Felton to an offer sheet(about 7 million), and then bring in Douglas as a back up, and then sign Shaq for the remainder(probably 6 million)
    Lineups Knicks
    PG Felton/Douglas/Rautins
    SG Johnson/Walker
    SF Gallo/Chandler/Fields
    PF Booz/Gooden
    C Shaq/Barron
This roster would a lot better than this years roster. Would certainly get the knicks a lot more wins and be able to compete next year. No Lebron would be a failure but with what happened in the draft it appears that not even the Knicks themselves are confident they will get him. Felton is a lightning fast PG, that is the kind of point guard Dantoni likes to use and has success with. Felton, I’m sure is tired of losing in Charlotte and would love to start a lot more games just like his days at North Carolina.

    Jazz
    PG Williams/Price
    SG Matthews/Miles
    SF AK/Hayward
    PF Lee/Millsap
    C Okur/Fez
Jazz would love to resign Boozer but I know the Heat and Bulls are going to be asking for him just like they did last year. I expect the Heat and Bulls to first go after Bosh and Amare before they go after Boozer. Which means the Knicks might just be left with Boozer. Lee would do wonders for Utah and would do without the attitude of Boozer. Boozer and his attitude sound like they want to go to a bigger city, New York might be that place. I think these offseason would be satisfying for both teams. Certainly to a lesser extent, New York because they are expecting Lebron and to them nothing less would be a failure but Johnson, Booz, Shaq, and Felton isn’t that bad. What do you guys think?

Well he’s not gonna use low maintenance Barron as his starter. What other free agent center is out there. Shaq wants to win, without the Lebron, how are the cavs going to win? With this roster the Knicks would be a lot more successful then the Cavs without Lebron. Maybe Haywood but that is even worse then Shaq. Biedrins might work, but Im not quite sure how the Knicks would pry him from GSW. Any ideas how you might bring over Biedrins?

    free agent centers are

    Brad Miller
    Shaq
    Brendan Haywood
    Joel Pryzbilla
    Kyrylo Fesenko

Those are the ones of note…nothing to write home about, not for a Dantoni team anyways.
Brad Miller wouldnt be bad, though hes not what he used to be.

I think D’antoni might be after Brad Miller more then he would Shaq or Biedrins(still dont see how Knicks would pry him away from GSW. I had no idea Miller was a free agent too. Thanks for the help!! So instead of signing Shaq for the remainder, sign Miller. Would probably be more plausible since after doing a sign and trade with Utah to get Booz and then signing Felton to an offer sheet, signing Johnson to another big contract, would take up alot of money. And I don’t think Miller will be looking for a lot of money. Also Gooden will not be looking for big money so signing both Gooden and Miller would be a singe. As long as Miller or Gooden are not restricted free agents(I don’t think they are)
    Knicks new lineup
    Felton/Douglas
    Johnson/Walker/Rautins
    Gallo/Chandler/Fields
    Boozer/Gooden/Washington
    Miller/Barron

I want a hungry center who wants to just grab rebounds and such. Kinda like Kendrick Perkins.

Maybe Haywood would best fit that description but I would like someone Younger. Maybe Joel Anthony

Lee to the Jazz I don’t see it what do the Knicks get out of a sign n trade?
They have enough cap room to sign Boozer outright..

    This is what I’m thinking.

    PG Felton/Douglas/Rautins
    SG Johnson/Walker
    SF Gallo/Chandler/Fields
    PF Lee /Barron
    C Miller/Jordan/Curry

Curry can be moved in trades becaz he’s expiring maybe for Okafor.
Also Curry for Biedrins and Charlie Bell is an option if Warriors want to move salary.
How is Haywood worse than Shaq he’s a lot younger and can run the floor.
Yeah Shaq is more physical but doubtful he goes to NY unless Lebron or Wade come here.

Joel Anthony is a good choice too, Knicks have a lot of options at Center and PG.
    Felton, Ridnour, Lowry, Farmar
    Miller, Haywood, Joel Anthony,

Please take Iggy if I was the sixers GM I would just give him to you or better yet trade you Iggy for Curry and Chandler. Im tired of Iggy throwing up crazy shots thinkin he can be a go to guy when he still never averaged over 20 a game.

Right now? The Knicks are praying someone wants to offer Lee a big deal to get him. I hope it’s OKC because I want Eric Maynor

David Lee for Nick Collison and Eric Maynor? I’ll take it.

That sucks like it really does to go from talking about LeBron and Bosh to Joe Johnson and David Lee. I’m sorry but theres no way to hide that its a disappointment. If they could atleast Reunite Johnson and Amare then we’re talking, and maybe go over the cap like wat Miami is gonna do wit Wade and do with Lee because you can go over the cap to sign your own player back they just have to sign the other people first. Then you looking at:

    Douglass
    Johnson
    Gallo
    Lee
    Stoudemire

    Thats not too shabby.

Kiladelphia the Knicks have to release Lee’s birdrights to have enough money to sign 2 max players.
If they don’t he has a 10.5 million cap hold.

    About the 2 earlier trades.
Collison and Maynor that would be nice.
On 2nd thought Iguodala would be a few million cheaper than JJ he’s also 26 abt 3 years younger than JJ.
Knicks would still keep their cap room too actually gain a million or so.
Lineup with both trades would be like this after signing Amare in FA.

    PG Maynor /Douglas/Rautins
    SG Iguodala/Walker
    SF Gallo/Fields
    PF Amare/Collison/Washington
    C Miller/Barron/Jordan

Outside of shot blocking and a vet. PG seems like a decent team.

would hornets accept trade for cp3
chandler lee curry and douglass for cp3 and emeka
NOH gets allstar lee curry’s expiring contract young wing in chandler and nice back up to collison
they get rid of emeka’s huge contract and cp3 who wnts to leave
knicks get defensive big and cp3 to run the show
    then sign either booz amare
    cp3
    walker
    gallo
    booz
    emeka

    this might prolly wont happen
so trade chandler and curry for emeka and collison
    knicks sign gay and booz
    sign korver
    collison/douglass/routins
    gallo/walker
    gay/korver/fields
    booz/baron

Good stuff but Gallo at SG won’t work too big at almost 6’11”
Gay would be ur SG and Gallo at SF.
Pass on Korver rather use the money on a big man, would love to get Darren Collison in NY though for sure.
