fliptonnParticipantchris duhon is good, but hes not the future of the knicks at point guard. hes not smart enough on fast breaks or a good enough leader. Rubio and Jennings would be great in New York. They love fast breaks and playing up tempo defense. Jonny Flynn is good and he did go to Syracuse, but he doesnt exactly have all star potential. Holliday is just a step down from Duhon.
How can the Knicks get either of these two?
I think Rubio could be acquired through trades with memphis since he doesnt really wanna go there.
And do you think Jennings will fall that far? or will either sacremento golden state or minnisota (all need pg’s) pick him up?

auberParticipantI don’t see Jennings drop 7 in a worst case scenario. I have Minnesota taking him at 6. David lee is a must trade along with the 8th pick.

knicksfreakParticipantThings are starting to look like the knicks can move up to get Rubio. I am still tempted by Jennings upside though. It all comes down to if the Grizzlies are really selling. If not then go for:
@ #8
1. Jennings
2. Holiday
3. Curry
4. Clark
5. Evans0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/09/2009 - 10:14am #159274
fliptonnParticipantyeah but i dont think they want clark or evans because they dont need another wing. Holliday cannot run the knicks especially if they wanna attract bron. and i really dont think curry is developed enough to play point

knicksfreakParticipantHoliday’s size is intriguing and he loooks to me like a bigger better version of Duhon who played well until he hit the wall. I like Evans because I think hes one of few players in this draft that has star potential and he can play some point. Alot of hardcore knicks fans I know are looking at Clark and the Knicks will keep that in mind. He’d be great for us especially if we ship David Lee off. I love his size. We have been undersized for so long that I like him for that alone. I dont see him being a superstar but he can be on the Odom, Ariza level of good role player at the least I hope. He looked good in the workout videos I saw. The best possible scenerio in this draft for me would be snagging Jennings at 8 and moving back in to get Clark if he falls to Detroit at 15.

fliptonnParticipanttrue true. but if we dont get jennings what do we have? Flynn? Clark’s size my be good but if hes on the knicks hell play PF/C and we dont need an undersized big. But, I like the idea of trading for him. I think Rubio is where its at and we should go for number two. But if we can get Rubio and Clark that will be a verrrry successful draft

knicksfreakParticipantYes and thats looking more likely every day. I’m just worried about what we’ll have to give up to get him. Most likely Chandler or Gallo. If not Rubio or Jennings then I look to Holiday who I think can be a strong player.

kamikazeParticipant#1: Blake Griffin – LA Clippers
#2: Hasheem Thabeet – Memphis
#3: James Harden – OKC
#4: Ricky Rubio -Sac
#5: Jordan Hill – Washington
#6: Stephon Curry – Minnesota
#7: Brandon Jennings – GS
#8: DerMar Derozen – NY
#9: Jonny Flynn – Toronto
#10: Tyreke Evans – Milwaukee
#11: James Johnson – NJ
#12: Gerald Henderson -Charlotte
#13: DeJuan Blair -Indiana
#14: Jrue Holiday – Phoenixi agree with DerMar’s agent…..he wont be there at #9………Knicks wont pass up on him….im tired of people sayin the knicks need a PG….they need an upgrade on all positions…..right now it looks like the Knicks will prolly do a sign and trade with Nate…….sign Carlos Cabezas and nex season have him play alongside Duhon……then in 2010, when Duhon becomes a free agent, the Knicks will let him go….and then sign Nash and prolly Speedy C to play alongside Cabezas……the knicks will take the best player available to 8, and that’ll be DerMar……..
as far is this post…..about knicks takin Jennings or Rubio….Rubio will be gone at 4…..he’ll want to play for the Kings…..Cali is ok with him……Kings need him……Jennings wont go further than 7…..and 7 will be when he gets drafted…..i cant see Minnesota takin Jennings over Curry….especially after impressive workouts by Curry……

knicksfreakParticipantI cant wait to hear everybody stammer when Jennings falls. I hope the Knicks take him but I have a very bad feeling. It is a much more real possibility than people are admitting. We all love Jennings because of youtube and he was ranked #1 out of HS but NBA scouts and GM’s have been impressed by alot of other PG’s and he hasnt had very impressive numbers. He hasnt been able to showcase his athletic ability and talent. I think he has been put on a backburner and Flynn, Curry and Holiday have lined up in front. He better have a good workout on Friday against Holiday and Flynn. As far as Demar Derozan, I think he is definitely the fall guy. He brings no NBA ready skills and isnt quite the unbelievable athlete we all thought. He has good size and athleticism but not quite the freakshow as expected. The only team in the top 10 I see taking him is Toronto. If they decide to go with Evans or somebody else, Derozan could drop all the way to 18. He is just way too raw. As for the Knicks, I think Jennings will be available but we will be dumb and get Curry if he is still there(unlikely) or Holiday. I hope I am underestimating Donnie but this is one time I wish Isiah Thomas was back at GM. He was the best drafter possibly in the league.

PringlesParticipantDefinitely Rubio, and I’m a bit scared off by Derozan. He reminds me of Desmond Mason (no jumpshot beyond 18 feet).

JNixonParticipantIf they take Holiday, it will be just as stupid as the year they took Balkman and Mardy Collins. Jrue Holiday will be a bust, im super duper sure of that. I think the knicks should take Jennings (if he falls, definitely should be their 1st choice), Flynn (a great fit for the system), or Curry (would provide immediate scoring)

knicksfreakParticipantHoliday is a bigger stronger Duhon. Not saying I want him but thats what he is. Flynn is overrated and Curry is too small. Balkman is a much better player than he’s given credit for.

fliptonnParticipantyou mean curry is overrated and flynn is too small i hope. but even guard like rafer alston and tj ford will strip the ball from curry every time down, dont get me started on what chris paul will do to him. and he plays set up basketball while the knicks like to run

RemarqParticipantJennings = Telfair, his stock is dropping like a rock and I hope we dont take him. I agree that we need an upgrade at just about every position. We need a starting PG, so Duhon can back him up, at least one solid young 2G, another PF to go with the Chanlder, Danilo, Lee, forward core, and a centerish player who can play the 5 in our system, a Jordan Hill type player.
I would be fine with the knicks drafting, in no particular order, with no regard to whether or not they will be there: Rubio, Harden, Hill, Evans, Flynn, DeRozan, and Holiday.
