So this post got longer than I ntended. The link for the trade is below. I think this would benefit all four teams. Which team do you think shouldn’t do this deal?

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bw8gpgn

    Lakers +7 (Hollinger)
Lakers maintain financial flexibility. Gain depth and fit at forward and reinforcement at PG off the bench with Sessions. Pau is the odd man out to add depth. Warrick is the “throw in” here that could be significant due to his ability to run the floor and hit the midrange jumper. Great fit for Dantoni’s system.

    Give
    Pau Gasol
    Chris Duhon

    Get
    Shawn Marion
    Hakim Warrick
    Ramon Sessions

    Raptors +2 Wins
Raptors need a shake up. Pau would be a great influence on Valanciunas. Thos two and Ed Davis would hold down a front line with Ben Gordon fitting in between Lowry and Derozan.

    Give
    Landry Fields
    Andrea Bargnani
    Amir John
    Jose Calderon
    Linas Kleiza

    Get
    Pau Gasol
    Ben Gordon
    Chris Duhon
    Reggie Williams

    Charlotte -2 Wins
Charlotte was the only team to be negative on the trade machine. However, i think they may come out best in this trade with locking up some talent on decent contracts over the next 3 years while their young guys grow.
This is also the same amount of time that is left on Walker and Biyombo’s rookie deals. None of the players they are giving up are long term starters. They would get a definately long term starter for them in Bargnani. His defensive and rebounding limitations would be partially hidden by playing between KiddGilchrist and Biyombo.

    Ben Gordon
    Ramon Sessions
    Hakim Warrick
    Reggie Williams

    Get
    Andrea Bargnani
    Landry Fields
    Amir Johnson
    Rodrique Beaubois

    Dallas Mavericks +1
Calderon solves their PG issues immediately and forms a nice trio with Mayo & Collins. This deal costs them money initially, but would give them 4 Million extra in cap room this offseason since 2 of the 4 contracts are expiring. Marion will have 8.6 M coming next year while Kleiza will have 4.6 M coming next year.

    Give
    Shawn Marion
    Rodrique Beaubois

    Get
    Jose Calderon
    Linas Kleiza

I can understand trade ideas being thrown around during the offseason when there’s not much to talk about but the amount of trades (most of them stupid) being posted lately is ridiculous. Give it up.

i just don’t understand. so, charlotte get a bit better, signing bargnani for junk, and dallas get slightly better. but this would just be a pretty underwhelming trade. and horrible for LA and Toronto.
