yimstreParticipantif the heat get lbj, bosh, wade i still would pick the lakers over them.
bynum > who ever the heat get
gasol > bosh
artest < james byrant > wade
fisher/ blake = chalmers
lakers bench > heat bench0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 10:36am #349196
Russell0WestbrookParticipantagreed the lakers would still beat the heat if they could beat orlando and boston

Malik-UniversalParticipantvery interesting to see what really unravels…. heat vs lakers finals anybody??? not sayin that will happen

Tha King2121Participantgasol < bosh
I think Bosh is better then Gasol
If there was a match – up i think Bosh
would dominate. He gets better #'s too

stanford hoopsBosh isn’t better then gasol and he’s a worst defender. I dnt think the heat would beat the celtics. Thre plays and a bunch of leauge min plus no bench at all won’t cut it. Not to mention no shooters
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 10:51am #349214
Tobe BryantParticipantLets take a look at the two lineups in depth at better perspective starting with the Miami Heat:
HYPOTHETICALLY, the HEAT have established a 2010 BIG 3 featuring dynamic players Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh. The lineup would POSSIBLY look like (barring trades, releases and loses, contract stashes, and whatnot):
PG- Mario Chalmers?/ Carlos Arroyo
SG- Dwayne Wade/Desean Butler
SF- LeBron James/James Jones
PF- Chris Bosh/ Mike Beasley?
C- Dexter Pittman?Bench:??
2010 NBA Champs, the Los Angeles Lakers roster:
PG- Derek Fisher/ Steve Blake/ Javaris Crittenton?
SG- Kobe Bryant/Sasha Vujacic/ Gerald Green/ Shannon Brown?
SF- Ron Artest/ Devin Ebanks/ Luke Walton / Adam Morrison
PF- Pau Gasol/ Josh Powell
C- Andrew Bynum / Derrick Caracter / DJ Mbenga?Bench:
6TH MAN: LAMAR ODOM!
Anybody see where I’m going? The LAKERS are significantly more skilled and DEEPER than the HEAT and any other team in the NBA. They have the PERFECT PLAYERS for the SYSTEM they run in the triangle. Some are not the most athletic, but their basketball IQs and skill levels are so high it masks their lack of explosiveness and athleticism that they lack.

Bryant24ParticipantI been a lakers fan since i basically picked up a basketball and i jumping on the bandwagon no matter who the heat gets kobe dont like to loose so he probably training like hell right now for all yall said kobe on his last legs you going see some phenomenal stuff from KB24 next year.
I still would love to see bosh and gasol go at though thats must see t.v.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 10:56am #349222
Russell0WestbrookParticipanthe got better numbers cuz he didnt have anybody else gasol would dominate bosh every night. he only scored more because he was the 1st option gasol was option number 3 behind kobe and kobe.

Bryant24ParticipantRusell0westbrook dont even hog the ball like kobe of 04-07 because he knows he cant do it by himsself he ha average 20+,5+rpg,5+apg, consistently for a long time he has become an good passer he had alot of games in the playoffs this year with 7 assists or more

PlatypusParticipantyou would have to compare Pau in Memphis compared to Bosh in Toronto for stats
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:06am #349237
goneParticipantGive the Heat a shotblocker and a banger and they could beat the Lakers all they need to do is match thier length because Bosh is better than Gasol, he is a terrible post defender yes he has long arms to block shots but I saw numerous times KG face up and blow by him
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:10am #349240
goneParticipantBut the thing im not understanding is people are talking like Lebron and Dwade are not 2 of the top 3 players in the whole NBA that has never happened before at least to my knowledge and veterans will come running to this team just to win a championship for cheap
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:13am #349244
stanford hoopsNope. Sorry they don’t have the money to get good big men. This isn’t NBA live there’s a cap. How many good shoot blockers yo thnk are out there? It’s not as easy as jus matching there length. The guys have to also have skills not just be long. A healthy or smi health bynum kills and min salary big man they pick up
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:15am #349249
stanford hoopsDo you know what the vet leauge min is? Nooooo vet signs for a couple hundred thousand a year. How many good free agent vets you think are even out there? Yeah you might wanna take a look at the list
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:21am #349254
IndianaBasketballParticipantThe Heat have three players who are capable of going off for 30, 40 or even 50 points. They still have a lot of holes to fill, but they’ll be tough to beat in seven games.
The Lakers vs Heat would be a great matchup.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:25am #349261
goneParticipantBeasley is obviously outta place there they can move him for him for 2 specialist players like hmm off the top of my head umm posey and or julian wright and there is a very good young shotblocker named Dwyane Jones who was sitting on the Suns bench this whole playoffs
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:27am #349265
stanford hoopsYou need more then that to beat A very good team. Then there’s a thing called chemistry. That’s being underrated and the understanding between 2 ball dominate guys. But the biggest prob is filling out the rest of the roster. Even with 3 stars(one of which plays no D) you need good compliment players and a bench(injuries always happen to every team)

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantHere’s a pretty solid list of FA’s Miami can get for the Vet’s Minimum
Eddie House
Earl Watson
Jerry Stackhouse
Tim Thomas
Juwan Howard
Theo Ratliff
Brian Skinner
Tony Battie
Francisco ElsonI think Miami could find good enough bench players to win a Title this offseason.

stanford hoopsLol. Jones? Man u are reaching. This isn’t a video games. You don’t just plug in any big man and think that will work. And these are trades that havnt even been brought up. Stick to reality. And check out how much money they have. So you can see who they will be able to afford
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:36am #349273
IndianaBasketballParticipantLeBron, Wade and Bosh are all very close friends. They’ve been talking about the possibility of this for years.
It’ll take some adjustments, but I don’t see them having a problem with chemistry due to how close they are. Not to mention, they’ve played with each other already in the Olympics. I know the NBA is different than the Olympics, but still… They have that experience playing together.
James is so tough to guard… It takes an ENTIRE defense to stop him. The same can be said for Wade. What are you going to do to stop LeBron, Wade AND Bosh???
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:37am #349275
stanford hoopsDo you know what vet min is? They will have about 1.6millon left They might van get one vet and you not factoring in other teams will offer those guys more then the vet min. Vets take pay cuts but how many vets have taken vet min when there are other offers on the table that are for double the vet min. Y’all are HOPEING they want to leave money on the table and take vet min. Vers have turn down vet min when the lakers and Boston tried to get them and they were for sure contenders but you think now they will for sure decide to take the min huh
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:38am #349278
goneParticipantYour probably one of those people who questioned the Celtics chemistry but we all see what happened then and Lebron is a excellent passer and thats apperant thru his stats and if thats not proof enough look at the Olympics in 08 Dwade handled all the scoring and clutch shots while lebron did everything else
But I also find it funny that you ask me a question about a shot blocker I give u a answer and you reply with that lol you come straight outta comic book
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:42am #349279
stanford hoopsKey word. You don’t THINK. They won’t have a problem. There is still only one ball and one driving lane. If bron gets 50 that’s good that means no one else is getting the ball. it would be alot harder to guard theses guys if they didn’t need to drive to get most of there points. In the end everything with this team is MAYBE. And IF. We know what the lakers can do. They are proven. Miami has to prove it and that’s reality.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:43am #349280
IndianaBasketballParticipantThat’ll take a lot out of Kobe having to defend Wade for 40+ minutes. Then the Heat can put all 6′ 8″ 250 of LeBron, who won’t have to carry so much of the scoring load, on him at the other end. Kobe will have his work cut out for him.
The Heat just need to fill holes with role players who can shoot, defend and rebound. There’ll be PLENTY of players willing to take those spots.
I’ve read reports that Wade and Bosh are willing to take slight pay cuts in order to sign the players they need. I assume LeBron will be willing to take a slight pay cut also.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:47am #349286
stanford hoopsThis isn’t the olympics and when I said name someone I ment name a possibility not a trade you would like to happen. With Boston you had Ray Allen(shooter) Paul p(midrange slasher). Kg( post and great defender). Perfect fit. Theses are all stars but nor a perfect fit like thoses guys. Once again you and the other guys are saying maybe and hoping with no proof. We already know what the lakers can do. Do we know what Miami can do yet? NOPE
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:48am #349287
JNixonParticipantIf Lebron, Bosh , and Wade play together that team would get to the Finals. That’s too much talent, and they all can play together. All 3 of them want to win, all 3 KNOW that they can’t dominate the ball like they have in the past if they want to build up championship legacy, and all 3 know they need the right kinds of guys to be the best team.
I hope they all are willing to take pay cuts to get the role players they need. I would assume they are. Bosh took about 20 million dollars less than he could’ve just by signing straight up with Miami instead of doing sign and trade. Wade has said it’s not about the money. I think this thing would be CRAZY scary for the rest of the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:51am #349290
stanford hoopsHow about they get there first??? cuz all this right now is hoping and wishing. lakers have no if this or that. We know we will be there waiting, yet again
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:52am #349289
IndianaBasketballParticipantWe don’t know what Miami can do yet and their roster isn’t complete yet, but think of the possibilities. You’re right… They’re not perfect fits, but they’re just too good to not figure it out.

Where’s the Pacers vs Celtics report?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:56am #349294
JNixonParticipantI didn’t do any reports today. I feel like I saw all I need to see for the most part. I’m waiting for the Vegas League to start tomorrow.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:56am #349295
stanford hoopsTo good to figure it out people hope. If they make it just like Kobe being tired from Wade Wade will be more tired from from checking Kobe and playing more min lebron will have to help on who ever is checking bynum and on odom. That’s were the problem comes from. Not from
gasol and Kobe but from bynum, fisher, odom,Blake and we still gonna add someone0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 11:57am #349296
goneParticipantThey are just too talented in 91 when Mike won his first chip vs a older lakers team Scottie and Mike were both 30% 3pt shooters they won the finals that year because they were just too talented you are just analyzing the team too much they are just gonna be too good to stop
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 12:06pm #349303
stanford hoopsThey are a better 3 but with min players filling out the roster they won’t have a better team. Wade and lebron can’t check everyone and bosh defense is very suspect. Can’t even mention chi in the same breath since they won 6 and Miami hasn’t played a game together yet. Can’t even compare them to Boston yet
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 12:12pm #349310
Russell0WestbrookParticipantthey had shooters to pass to like bj armstrong, hodges, and paxson dont act as if the bulls didnt keep jordan with at least 2 great shooters after they left then came kerr and toni all these guy that will play for the min either have nothing left or are very young ang would be up to the challenge meaning they would be coming off the streets. remember lebron couldnt recruit anybody last year to play for the MLE so how could he get people to come in for the min. sheed, artest, and ariza all signed else where for the MLE last year after lebron begged
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 12:16pm #349316
stanford hoopsExactly. I don’t know any fa shooters out there who are as good as thoses guys and will accept vet min
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 12:17pm #349317
goneParticipantOkay how hard is it to trade beasley for some shooters and umm didnt shaq come to the cavs but im done rappin to ya youngins just watch I am not a miami fan or laker hater just a realist I actually dont want lebron in miami because that means my wizards will be stucked at the bottom for 6 years
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 12:17pm #349318
Mr. BasketballParticipantthe heat would be better. why? because what ring seeking vet at the end of his career won’t want to jump on to the heat roster for a shot at a ring. there are always those guys and thats how boston’s bench filled out few years ago. everyone was asking how they could fill out the team, well with vets and picks is how. posey, house, powe were all over looked. same now with butler, chalmers, beasley (who would be great off the bench), varnado (shot blocking machine), and pittman (big body every team could use). they’ll be fine bench wise.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 12:18pm #349320
stanford hoopsHell. It will be a interesting 7 game series between them and Boston. They have to get past them
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 12:21pm #349323
theasianpersuasionParticipantOne things for sure…
You’ll be seeing more and more people pop onto the Lakers bandwagon soon…
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 12:28pm #349330
stanford hoopsLol. Yea. And heat bandwagon. But we already know the true laker and heat fans up here
hey clipper fans what happened to y’all being in the running for lebron
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 12:29pm #349331
HaleParticipantOnly way I see Heat being better is if they get more shooters and a really good defensive big to play along side Bosh.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 1:25pm #349373
BasketballGuru24ParticipantDexter Pittman is going to get raped his 1st year.

They might sweep the Lakers.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 1:40pm #349381
OhCanada-ParticipantDont count out OKC
NEVER count out BOS
But honestly this is disgusting…Miami and Los Angeles are the clear cut 2 best teams, it wouldve been nice to see some idversity. Does Joe Johnson really think hes gonna do anything in Atlanta. Rudy Gy surely doesnt care about winning. This is horrible for the game IMO OKC, SAC, IND, and all these young teams better get good quick and make things interesting.0 - AuthorPosts
