Lakers @ Spurs
I've been high on Earl Clark since he was drafted, I still think he can produce and be a good piece off the bench for the Lakers, especially in D'Antoni's system.
5pts, 9rebs, 3asts last game
19pts, 11rebs, 2asts so far in this game
He just fits this system so well because he's the kind of player that can snag a rebound, bring the ball up, and make the right pass as well as start the play. I've always said he reminds me of a poor man's Lamar Odom.
D'Antoni should give Clark some minutes. He plays with tenacity with the little minutes he does receive and he has great length and a soft touch with his jumper.
Late game execution by the spurs. They lucked out against the Lakers who don't have two of their post players. All in all it was a pretty wild finish. Lakers...wow lol. Never thought I'd see this day. I mean I hate them...but this is...just...wrong.
They have OKC coming into their building on friday too.
I agree. Stephen Jackson surely didn't help with his antics and Timmy just couldn't get a shot off in crunch time. And when Tony turned the ball over that possession I almost flipped out of my skin. Luckily, we grinded out with a W as the Lakers continue to be....well.....
The Lakers fought hard but this is a serious problem. They just don't have the personnel for this system, and I see no way Pau fits into the system if he's going to be primarily shooting 20 footers and threes. I'm already bracing myself for the moment when D'Antoni benches Gasol for Earl Clark. Clark and Gasol have had the same number of 10 rebound games(one) since November 21st. Clark had 22 and 13 today, Since the first game of the season Gasol has not had at least those many points and boards in the same game. Clark might not be the shooter D'Antoni would like to spread the floor but he's athletic and can attack the basket. But regardless, D'Antoni's fate hangs on one game, Sunday night at home against Cleveland. We all know they're going to lose on Friday to OKC, that's inevitable, but if they lose to the lowly Cavs, on their home floor, means their 7th straight loss and dropping to 22-15? That doesn't fly in LA.
I lived in Palm Springs for 15 years,
I'm a Jazz fan, my Lakers friends told me that they would always love the lakers no matter what, just saw a group pic of them, almost half were wearing Clip Gear, only one was in a Laker Jersey,( it was a Rambis throw back)
On a side note, I have never enjoyed watching the Lakers as much as I am this season!
I think Earl Clark has earned some of Jamison's minutes. Give him the minutes and see if his confidence is high. He was a former lottery pick. He has talent. I think the "tweeter" status is a lot easier to have off the bench. He was awesome tonight. Offensively the Lakers were good bit defensively, for the first 3 quarters, were terrible.

Kobe seems to be catching fire but so has Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green from the corners.
