Lakers vs Knicks
its ridiculous melo and the knicks can't miss !!!
They can't keep blaming coaches for this... Can they....?
Not a chance. But man that would be awesome. Also I guess those contracts are guaranteed. So They have to pay these guys out to fire them. That would be tough. But I'd laugh if it happened. But I don't think it will. I think Nash solves all of the Lakers problems. The big men on the team are just waiting for Nash to get back. They could care less about Kobe.
some unreal stats are happening right now !
Side note, that Turkish Airlines commercial with Messi and Kobe was fantastic.
ohhhh nooooo i hope melo is OK !!!
carmelo mvp blablabla, people keep saying that he improved this year on the defensive side of the ball, but he's still not good im sorry, I have yet to see him lock some1 down like Lebron and Durant with consistency. He's a great scorer, maybe the best overall scorer in the league, but he is not as valuable to his team like Lebron and Durant are. comon..
Seriously???
Melo is playing with the likes of Jason Kidd and Raymond Felton as his back court (defensive legends, for sure) and not only is this team playing great, they are playing very good D. Why rip on Melo RIGHT NOW? He is on fire, he is playing great, the Knicks are the best team in the East so far. Stop joking yourself with this "He hasnt guarded anybody" Nonsense. Again, they start 2 PGs, who were both looking washed up/out of shape last year. Sheed Wallace plays minutes for this team. Prigioni, who wasn't good enough for the NBA when he actually was in his prime, plays for this team. James White, whose fame has come from D League dunk contests, plays for this team. And they are 17-5. Just shut up. And this is Bulls fan/Non New York guy talking. But just stop.
I agree on some of that. I'm not a Melo fan. But I recognize when he has a delivered a big STFU. I think Kidd and Chandler are playing like monsters and in a way our traditional understanding of basketball doesn't really compute but Melo is the most important part of this mix. So you have to recognize that Melo has made all star teams and olympic teams and won a college title and with all that, this, this year, is the best Melo has ever been. If you can't sit back and recognize on that, I don't really know what you are watching the game for.
Ok the Lakers have looked horrible since D antoni took over but lets remember, they are playin without two all star calber players Nash and Gasol, Roles are yet to be established, they havnt had that much of practice time to get the offensive patterns down. This team if healthy and with players like Ebanks and Hill doin the dirty job on defense is still a contender.
The Problem is that D12 is a Clown and Dantoni has no idea how to use AND motivate this bunch of guys.
I mean you have three all defensive team players on the court and can't stop anybody.
I don't feel sorry one bit for them.
Kobe looks great scoring all of those points night in and night out and everyone writes it up as Kobe playing his heart out, Kobe's all alone. Child please. Kobe shoots LA out of games! He takes terrible shot after terrible shot. HE turns the ball over but does not run back. When Melo heso'd Kobe on the break and went by him, Kobe yelled at Jamison as if it was his fault. Dwight even told him again tonight that he has to drop. He does not rotate at all. Knicks exploited that tonight. Put Dwight in a pick & roll going opposite of Kobe, the big man rolls if Dwight steps out on Felton, Kobe will be late everytime!. Then he'll watch and point or complain to someone else. I understand that he one of the GOATS, but c'mon somebody has to hold him accountable to. Stephen A Smith will never do it. The media never does it. The main line is usually something similar to "Kobe scores 35 but without any help, Lakers lose." It was several occasions tonight where Dwight had his man buried in front of the rim, this is when you get him the ball, plus he was making free throws tonight so take advantage of it. But Kobe was in "Attack mode" as the media will say. Duhon and Metta wide open waving hands for the ball, instead of passing Kobe fades on 3 people. If it goes, its good, but its not going to get your teammates to respond well. Im not Anti Kobe, or anything but I've been watching and playing ball for a long time and this is just what I see from LA outside of not having a deep bench and not being healthy. Sorry, Im done venting now guys.
this is expected with a team like the lakers they don't have depth, nash alone or gasol alone is already a huge loss for the team and both of them are injured, unlike the knicks who don't have amare and shumpert but still is winning, i wont be surprised if the knicks made it in the finals
The Lakers are in a mess again but they surely have no option than to stick with Coach D'Antoni as to pay him off and then hire a replacement would cost maybe $25 million add that to the luxury tax bill and it would be a big hit even for a team of their resourses.
As an outsider it is amusing to watch but I do feel sorry for Kobe dropping 30 plus ppg on loads of nights and still being on the losing side. I do wonder if something may have to give be it Coach D'Antoni, D12 not resigning etc.
I dont know anything bout the Lakers' cap situation but Why havent the Lakers went out and signed a solid pg or defensive wing from free agency, d league or anything? The same goes with defensive specialists. The Lakers can benefit from a couple low risk guys that can come in and play a specific role. Players like Reggie Evans and Pietrus and Jerry Stackhouse. Devin Ebanks, Jodie Meeks, Jordan Hill, and Darius Morris are not going to get it. They all make bone headed mistakes and none of them can guard. Im sure there are D league players or other veteran players out there who can come in and play 15mins a game just give the starters a blow without letting the game get bad. Its too many players out here to just let that team fall the way it is doing. I know Nash and Gasol arent playing but once they comeback I dont think their bench would be good enough to help. You got players like Kenyon Martin, Gilbert Arenas(of course they wouldnt do it) , Donte Green, Damian James, Bill Walker, Earl Boykins, Carlos Arroyo, Mike James, all players that have experience and can help the Lakers with a specific role off the bench. Something has to be shaken up along that current roster.

Its early, but the song remains the same for both teams. The Lakers look disjointed and completely lack chemistry. Kobe is an unmitigated monster. The Knicks are shredding the Lakers non-defense and Melo drops 22 in the first quarter.
